The Ministry of Finance has amended an earlier notification to revise the rate under Serial No. 1 to Rs. 12.5 per litre, effective from 16 June 2026.

Government Notifies increase in Central Excise Rate to Rs. 12.5 per Litre on export of ATF
Govt Increases Special Additional Excise Duty on Diesel from Rs 13.5 per Litre to Rs 14 per Litre
The Government of India, through the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), has issued this notification under the powers given by the Central Excise Act, 1944, and the Finance Act, 2002. The government believes that making this change is necessary in the public interest.
This notification amends an earlier notification (No. 08/2026-Central Excise) dated 26 March 2026, which was published in the Gazette of India.
The amendment relates to the table in the earlier notification. For export of ATF, the existing rate has been replaced with a new rate “Rs. 12.5 per litre”.
This amendment will come into effect from 16 June 2026.
