CBI Arrests DGFT Officer in Bribery Case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested an Assistant Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) in Panipat, Haryana, in connection with a bribery case.
According to the CBI, the case was registered on August 19, 2026, after the officer was accused of demanding a bribe of Rs 30,000 from a complainant.
The bribe was allegedly sought for clearing a deficiency and processing an Export Promotion Capital Goods (EPCG) authorisation file related to the complainant’s client.
The CBI laid a trap on August 19 and caught the accused officer while allegedly demanding and accepting Rs 30,000 from the complainant.
The accused will be produced before the designated CBI court in Panchkula.
The searches are underway at the residence and office premises of the accused. Further investigation in the case is underway.
