The DGMS Director General has been appointed as Chief Inspector-cum-Facilitator of Mines under the 2020 Occupational Safety Code, replacing the 2024 notification.

Govt Notifies Appointment of Chief Inspector-cum-Facilitator of Mines Under Occupational Safety Code, 2020
The Ministry of Labour and Employment has issued a notification dated 13th May 2026 for the appointment of Chief Inspector-cum-Facilitator of Mines.
The Central Government, using its powers under the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020, has replaced an earlier order issued on 19th September 2024.
Under the new order, the Director General of Mines Safety in the Directorate General of Mines Safety, Dhanbad, has been appointed as the Chief Inspector-cum-Facilitator of Mines for all areas where this Code applies.
However, anything that was already done or not done under the earlier notification before this new order will still remain valid.
