ICAI Allows CA to Advertise Non-Assurance Services: A Big Reform for Indian Firms In a major reform, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has approved the amendments in the rules related to the Advertisement Guidelines. Now the CAs and CA firms can advertise non-audit services like consultancy or accounting. This will boost the visibility, align with current digital practices, and help CA firms compete globally.
ICAI Breaking: Council Recommends Members to Accept Audit Fees via Digital Modes only
The conduct of the Chartered Accountants is governed by the ICAI Guidelines. These guidelines restrict the Chartered Accountants from advertising their services. However, with the new guidelines, the ICAI has relaxed these rules and now permits the promotion of non-assurance services. The decisions were taken at the 447th meeting of the ICAI council and were shared through a press release. This decision will allow the CAs to promote their non-assurance services on social media platforms, including LinkedIn, Instagram, and other digital channels. The institute now allows the push mode promotion for the non-assurance services, including consulting.

Along with the advertising reforms, the ICAI has approved Global Networking Guidelines 2025, allowing the domestic CA firms to collaborate with international networks. The code of ethics is also being revamped to ensure alignment with the global standards. Additionally, the Council has recommended that the members accept the audit fees through digital modes. Further, the ICAI has introduced ethical and independence standards for sustainability-related assurance engagements.
