ICAI Releases Exposure Draft of Guidance Note on Audit of Banks; Invites Comments Till Feb 23
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) recently shared an exposure draft of a book called "Guidance Note on Audit of Banks".
This exposure draft is issued by the Auditing and Assurance Standards Board. ICAI invites public comments on this Exposure Draft. The last date for comments is February 23, 2026.
This exposure draft is divided into two different sections, i.e., Section A and Section B. Section A (Statutory Central Audit) includes 21 chapters, and Section B includes 27 chapters.
ICAI has said that comments will be more useful if they clearly mention the specific paragraph they relate to, explain the reason for the comment, and, where possible, suggest alternative wording. Comments can be sent to the Secretary, Auditing and Assurance Standards Board, ICAI, at ICAI Bhawan, Indraprastha Marg, New Delhi-110002.
