ICAI Releases Practical Guide on GST Adjudication and Appeals Including GSTAT

The GST and Indirect Taxes Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has released a Practical Guide (April 2026) to GST Adjudication and Appeals, including GSTAT (Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal).

Since the launch of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) in July 2017, GST compliance and litigation have evolved significantly and with this, the requirement and role of chartered accountants (CAs) have also increased. Therefore, to make it easier for the members to understand appeals or disputes in an effective manner, the ICAI has released this publication titled ‘Practical Guide to GST Adjudication and Appeals including GSTAT’.

This publication will authorise CAs to recommend to their clients across all stages of GST adjudication and appellate processes. As the title itself indicates, the publication underlines comprehensive and practical ways of handling convoluted disputes and appeals. Chaiman, CA. Umesh Sharma; CA. Rajendra Kumar P, Vice-Chairman; and the members of the GST & Indirect Taxes Committee of ICAI have together put their efforts into updating this publication.

Refer to the official publication for complete information.
