IIT Ropar Recruitment 2023: The Indian Institute of Technology Ropar has advertised two positions, a Junior Research Fellow and a Project Associate-I, for the Department of Chemical Engineering. As per IIT Ropar Recruitment 2023 official notification, the Junior Research Fellow position is for an ISRO-sponsored project on developing durable and smart catalyst layer structures for low-temperature PEM fuel cells. The ideal candidate must have a postgraduate degree in basic science or a graduate/postgraduate degree in chemical engineering and should have qualified through national eligibility tests like CSIR-UGC NET or GATE or have been selected through national-level examinations conducted by central government departments and their agencies and institutions. The candidate should also have hands-on experience in nanomaterials synthesis, characterization, and fabricating in-house devices and small-scale reactors. The salary for this position is INR 31,000/- + HRA for those who qualify through the national eligibility tests or a selection process by central government departments and their agencies and institutions. The contract will initially be for one year and can be extended based on satisfactory performance until the project’s completion.
As per IIT Ropar Recruitment 2023 official notification, the Project Associate-I position is for a National Technical Textile Mission-sponsored project on developing indigenous encapsulated phase change material (PCM) based activewear textiles and demonstrating commercial-scale manufacturing. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in textile, chemical, polymer, materials, environmental, instrumentation, or other relevant disciplines. The candidate should also have knowledge of textile processes, textile chemistry, textile machinery, and strong knowledge of polymers, fibers, spinning processes, and surface modification techniques. The salary for this position is Rs. 31,000/- + HRA for those who qualify through the national eligibility tests or a selection process by central government departments and their agencies and institutions. The contract will initially be for one year and can be extended based on satisfactory performance until the project’s completion. The last date of application is May 7, 2023, at 5:00 PM.

For the position of Junior Research Fellow, the educational qualification required is a Postgraduate Degree (MSc) in Basic Science OR Graduate (BE/BTech)/Postgraduate (ME/MTech) Degree in Chemical Engineering selected through a process described through any one of the following:
(a) Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests – CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE
(b) The selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER etc.
For the position of Project Associate-I, the educational qualification required is a Bachelor’s degree (BTech/BE) or Master’s degree (MTech/ME) in Textile, Chemical, Polymer, Materials, Environmental, Instrumentation or other relevant disciplines.
As per IIT Ropar Recruitment 2023 official notification, the salary for both positions is as follows:
Junior Research Fellow:
Rs. 31,000/- + HRA to scholars who are selected through (a) National Eligibility Tests- CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE OR (b) a selection process through National level examination conducted by Central Government Department and their agencies and institutions.
Rs. 25,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above.
Project Associate-I:
Rs. 31,000/- + HRA to scholars who are selected through (a) National Eligibility Tests- CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE OR (b) a selection process through National level examination conducted by Central Government Department and their agencies and institutions.
Rs. 25,000/- + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above.
Here, HRA refers to House Rent Allowance, which is an allowance provided to employees to meet their rental accommodation expenses.
