JKPSC Recruitment 2023: The Jammu & Kashmir Public Service Commission has released a notification inviting online applications from eligible candidates who are domiciled in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir for the J&K Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination-2023. As per JKPSC Recruitment 2023 official notification,  the examination will be conducted in accordance with the rules laid down in the SRO-103 of 2018, S.O 61 of 2021, and the J&K Public Service Commission (Conduct of Examination) Rules, 2022. The preliminary examination is a crucial first step in the selection process for three important services: Junior Scale of J&K Administrative Service, J&K Accounts (G) Service, and J&K Police (G) Service. The pay scale for these positions ranges from 9300-34800 with a Grade Pay of 4800 (now revised to Level 8) to 47600- 151100.

As per JKPSC Recruitment 2023 official notification, the online registration for the J&K Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination-2023 will commence on 17th April 2023 at 05:00 PM and will continue until 1st May 2023 at 05:00 PM. Candidates are advised to carefully read the eligibility criteria and other conditions mentioned in the notification before applying. The candidates must be domiciled in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and must fulfill the age limit, educational qualifications, and other eligibility conditions as laid down in the notification. Age Limit for JKPSC Recruitment 2023:

As per JKPSC Recruitment 2023 official notification, the age limit for the J&K Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination, 2023 varies depending on the category of the candidate. For candidates belonging to the OM (Open Merit) category, the age limit is 32 years as on January 1, 2022.

For Reserved Category candidates, in-service candidates, and Physically Challenged Candidates, the age limit is relaxed by two years. Therefore, the maximum age limit for these categories is 34 years as on January 1, 2022.

However, for candidates belonging to category 2, which includes candidates from the J&K Police (G) Service, the age limit is further relaxed by one year. Therefore, the maximum age limit for candidates from this category is 35 years as on January 1, 2022.

Salary for JKPSC Recruitment 2023:

As per JKPSC Recruitment 2023 official notification, the salary for the above-mentioned posts/services is 9300-34800 with Grade Pay of 4800 [now revised to Level 8 (47600- 151100)]

Eligibility Criteria for JKPSC Recruitment 2023:

As per JKPSC Recruitment 2023 official notification, the J&K Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination-2023 has released its eligibility criteria for candidates who wish to appear for the exam. The eligibility criteria are in accordance with the rules laid down vide SRO-103 of 2018 and the J&K Public Service Commission (Conduct of Examination) Rules, 2022. In addition to the rules, there are two specific parameters that candidates must fulfill.

Firstly, the candidate must be a domicile of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. This means that the candidate must be a permanent resident of J&K and possess a domicile certificate. Secondly, the candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University in India or from a Foreign University declared by the Government in consultation with the Commission to be equivalent to a degree of a recognized University.

Exam Pattern for JKPSC Recruitment 2023:

As per JKPSC Recruitment 2023 official notification, the exam pattern for the J&K Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination is given below:

JKPSC Combined Competitive Prelims Exam Pattern: 

The JKPSC CCE Prelims exam is an objective-type test that comprises two papers with MCQ-type questions. The exam duration for each paper is 2 hours. The following are the key features of the JKPSC CCE Prelims Exam Pattern:

  • Paper I is for General Studies I, while Paper II is for General Studies II.
  • Each paper is for 200 marks, totaling 400 marks.
  • There will be a negative marking of 0.33 marks for every incorrect answer.

JKPSC Combined Competitive Mains Exam Pattern

The JKPSC CCE Mains Examination includes a written exam and an interview. Candidates who clear the written exam will be eligible for the Personality Test/ Interview. The following are the key features of the JKPSC CCE Mains Exam Pattern:

  • The written exam consists of 8 papers in total, 2 of which are qualifying in nature. The remaining 6 papers are for merit ranking.
  • The qualifying papers are for English and any of the recognized Indian languages.
  • The merit-ranking papers include General Essays, General Studies, and Optional Subjects (2 papers).
  • Each paper is for 250 marks, totaling 1750 marks.
  • The duration for each paper is 3 hours, except for the language papers, which are for 2 hours.
  • The interview/ Personality Test is for 250 marks.

How to Apply for JKPSC Recruitment 2023:

To apply for the JKPSC Combined Competitive Exam, candidates must follow the given instructions for a successful application process. Firstly, candidates need to visit the official website of the Commission. The Commission only accepts online applications, and no other mode of application will be accepted.

Candidates who have not registered with the JKPSC website will have to create their profile by clicking on the “One Time Registration” link. Those who have already registered can log in using their details. After logging in, candidates must fill in all the required fields of One Time Registration, including personal information, contact information, educational qualifications, and service details.

As per JKPSC Recruitment 2023 official notification, the Candidates must also upload a recent passport-size color photograph and signature, which should not be older than January 1, 2023. The photograph and signature must be in jpeg or jpg format and should be between 10kB to 20kB in size. After the successful submission of all the details in the OTR account, candidates should check the eligibility conditions mentioned in the advertisement notification before applying for the post.

To apply for the post, candidates need to click on the “show examination” option shown against the respective post/examination. A window will appear on the computer screen, and candidates must select the month of the advertisement notification for which they want to apply. Once selected, candidates can apply for the exam by following the given instructions and filling out the application form with accurate details.
