Income Tax Department issued advisory on DSC The Income Tax Department has issued an Advisory on Digital Signature Certificate(DSC). The Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) has emerged as a globally trusted, secure, and safe digital tool that streamlines all of your e-filing processes. DSC has many such features that provide a cyber-free environment for your confidential information and records for e-filing income tax returns online. According to the revised provision under Section 44AB of the Information Technology Act, 2000, the income tax department considers E-filing of Income Tax Return (ITR) to be mandatory for individuals/professionals with a gross annual income of 25 lakhs or more, and businesses or corporate firms with an annual turnover of 1 crore or more. To file a tax return, you must affix the Class 3 Digital Signature Certificate to your documents. This protects your vital personal data from any cyber scam or data breach. Furthermore, DSC ensures the authenticity and integrity of the data exchanged during the ITR e-filing process. The Advisory are as follows: Don't forget:-
  • To check the expiry date of the DSC.
  • To de-register the old DSC before registering a new valid DSC.
  • To install the latest version of emBridge application* if you get the 'something went wrong' error.
  • To ensure that DSC is linked to the PAN of the Principal contact, who should be registered in 'My Profile' section of the e-Filing portal.
Important Note: Uninstall existing emBridge application → Install latest version → using the path https://embridge.emudhra.com → Delete existing certificate → Import the certificate again in epass token tool → Retry Also Read: Income Tax releases FAQs on Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) related issues and solutions
