Posts and Vacancies for Income Tax Department Recruitment 2025
The recruitment is for the following posts with respective vacancies:
- Stenographer Grade-II: 2
- Tax Assistant (TA): 28
- Multitasking Staff (MTS): 26
Age Limit for Income Tax Department Recruitment 2025
The candidates applying for the respective posts should be of the age mentioned below:
- Stenographer Grade-II and Tax Assistant: 18 to 27 years
- Multi-Tasking Staff: 18 to 25 years
Age Relaxation for Income Tax Department Recruitment 2025
As per the official notification, the candidates will be given the following relaxation in age:
- 5 years for General/OBC candidates.
- 10 years for SC/ST candidates.
- Special relaxation is given to meritorious sportspersons.
Educational Qualification for Income Tax Department Recruitment 2025
The candidates should have the following educational qualifications:
- Stenographer Grade-II: Should have passed Class 12 from a recognised board.

- Stenographer Grade-II and Tax Assistant: Rs.25,500-Rs.81,100 (Level 4, 7th CPC Pay Matrix)
- Multi-Tasking Staff: Rs.18,000-Rs.56,900 (Level 1, 7th CPC Pay Matrix)
Selection Process for Income Tax Department Recruitment 2025
This recruitment does not require a written examination. The selection process varies by position:
- Stenographer Grade-II: Candidates will undergo a skill test, which includes a dictation test (10 minutes at 80 words per minute) and a transcription test (English: 50 words per minute, Hindi: 65 words per minute).
- Tax Assistant: The candidates should qualify in a data entry proficiency test with a minimum speed of 8,000 key depressions per hour.
- Multi-Tasking Staff: Candidates will be selected according to the rules of recruitment. They have to undergo document verification and a medical fitness test before selection.
