The Income Tax Department is inviting applications for the posts of Director (Systems), Additional Director (Systems), and Deputy Director (Systems) pertaining to General Central Services Group ‘A’ (Gazetted). The appointment will be made on a deputation basis for a period of two years or three years.
There are a total of 11 vacancies available for the aforesaid roles. The chosen candidates will be placed in the attached and subordinate offices of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT). To be eligible for the post, candidates must not be older than 56 years. Selected candidates will be paid at Levels 13A and 11 in the pay matrix. Candidates who are eligible for the roles and willing to work at the same time can fill in the application forms within 30 days from the date of publication of the advertisement in Employment News / Rozgar Samachar.

Chosen candidates chosen for the designated roles will be placed at the following locations:- Director (Systems): Delhi
- Additional Director (Systems): Delhi and Bengaluru
- Deputy Director (Systems): The list of locations where the successful candidates can be posted is attached as Annexure – Stn – DD. Applicants are to clearly indicate their choice of place of posting in order of preference.
CBDT Recruitment 2026: Period of Deputation
Candidates selected for the CBDT Recruitment 2026 will be placed on a deputation basis for a period depending on the roles they are selected for:- Director (Systems): The period of deputation for the post of Director (Systems) will be for two years or up to 31-12-2027, whichever is earlier. However, this date may extend with the approval of the Competent Authority owing to the administrative requirement.
- Additional Director (Systems): The period of deputation for the post of Additional Director (Systems) will be for two years or up to 31-12-2027, whichever is earlier. However, this date may extend with the approval of the Competent Authority owing to the administrative requirement.
- Deputy Director (Systems): The period of deputation for the post of Deputy Director (Systems) will be for three years. However, this date may extend with the approval of the Competent Authority owing to the administrative requirement.

- Annual Performance Appraisal Reports of the last 5 years (duly attested),
- Cadre clearance,
- Integrity Certificate,
- Vigilance Clearance Certificate and
- Details of the status of major/minor penalties imposed during the last ten years
