ISRO Recruitment 2023: The National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC) is a constituent centre of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Department of Space (DOS) responsible for the ground segment of remote sensing programmes through satellite data acquisition, archival, processing, dissemination, remote sensing applications, training and capacity building. The NRSC offers various research and development opportunities for talented individuals interested in remote sensing and related fields. One such opportunity is the Junior Research Fellow (JRF) programme. As per ISRO Recruitment 2023 official notification, the JRF programme aims to provide an opportunity for highly motivated and bright candidates to pursue research in the fields of remote sensing, geographic information systems (GIS), geomatics, geospatial technology, environmental sciences, and other related fields. There are 34 vacancies available.
The JRF programme offers research positions to candidates with ME/M. Tech, MSc, and BE/B.Tech qualifications in relevant disciplines. The programme is highly competitive and provides excellent exposure to research and development activities carried out at NRSC, thus helping the candidates to develop a career in remote sensing and allied fields. As per ISRO Recruitment 2023 official notification, the salary and benefits for the Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position include a monthly stipend of Rs. 31,000, which can be increased to Rs. 35,000 after two years of successful completion and review of research work. The HRA will also be provided at prescribed rates in force at the place of posting, in case accommodation is not provided. Additionally, medical benefits will be allowed as per the rules of NRSC/ISRO. JRFs are eligible for casual leave and female JRFs can avail of maternity leave as per Govt. of India instructions. However, JRFs are not entitled to any benefits or concessions admissible to regular employees.
The Research Scientist (RS) position has a Level 10 pay scale in the Pay Matrix as per VII CPC, along with Dearness Allowance and HRA at prescribed rates in force at the place of posting. The Research Scientists are eligible for medical benefits and leave entitlement as per the rules of NRSC/ISRO, including maternity leave for female Research Scientists as per Govt. of India instructions. However, Research Scientists are not entitled to any benefits or concessions admissible to regular employees and are not eligible for annual increments. It is important to note that the above provisions are subject to change/revision from time to time as per Government policy.
As per ISRO Recruitment 2023 official notification, the eligibility criteria for the job position requires the candidate to hold a ME/M.Tech/ M.Sc. Tech or equivalent degree in First class with a minimum of 60% marks (aggregate of all semesters) or CGPA/CPI grading of 6.5 on a 10 Point scale. For the postcode of PA01 & PA02, the candidate must hold a BE/B.Tech/M.Sc. or equivalent degree in First Class with an aggregate of 65% marks (average of all semesters) or CGPA of 6.84 on a 10 Point scale. It is also mandatory for the B.Sc degree to be in First Class. In case the candidate is awarded Grades/CGPA instead of marks, the conversion of Grades/CGPA to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the University. The candidate must indicate the equivalent percentage in the relevant column of the online application form as per the norms adopted by the University and submit the necessary proof for the equivalent percentage.
The responsibility of proving the conversion from Grades/CGPA to the percentage of marks lies with the candidate. The candidate must ensure that the conversion is as per the norms adopted by the University and submit a certified copy from the University stating the equivalent percentage. It is important to note that the eligibility criteria are liable to change/revision from time to time as per Government policy.
