JioFinance Offers ITR Filing at Rs 24, But Why Share Income Data When Government Portal Is Free?
Filing an Income Tax Return (ITR) is very important for all taxpayers in the country. However, sometimes, filing a return can be really confusing, especially for taxpayers who are filing ITR for the first time. Such taxpayers often take help from tax professionals or other platforms for ITR filing services. The average cost to file an ITR in India ranges between Rs 2,000 and Rs 7,000 and above, depending on the complexity of your income. However, what if a platform claims to file your ITR at just Rs 24?
These days, many online platforms are claiming that you can file your ITR for just a few rupees. Jio Company, a well-known Indian telecommunication company, has also introduced the JioFinance app, which claims to file your ITR at just Rs 24. But do you know the truth behind this low-cost ITR service? In a recent case, one user shared his experience from the JioFinance App on the platform X.
The user decided to call the support team of JioFinance aoo, and the conversation revealed how these platforms are lying just to attract users. During the call, the user said that he had a private job and had already filled in his details in the app, but the payment link was showing much higher than Rs 24, which he had seen earlier on the app. But the support person from JioFinance App informed him that this low price is only for the other companies that have a tie-up with this platform. The user then informed him that he has Futures and Options (F&O), and the cost shown on the app was Rs 3,500. However, the other support person told him that this offer is not for normal users. He said that the actual cost for this would be Rs 4,500 plus GST.
The main concern here is why someone would choose to file their ITR at Rs 24, especially when it is a self-filing option? The platform does not actually file the return for you. You still have to do it yourself. Taxpayers can already file their ITR for free directly on the official Income Tax portal. So, why should they share important financial data with a third-party app?
File your ITR @ just Rs. 24
Such a pathetic way of marketing 😅 pic.twitter.com/sMC2XWH5S1— FinTaxPro (@fintaxpro_CA) August 12, 2025
Taxpayers are advised not to trust such misleading platforms or apps. It is always better to consult with good professionals and tax experts. The cost of filing ITR is way higher than Rs 24. The genuine tax professionals ask for a reasonable price. Therefore, go for the quality and not the low price. Paying a little more can save you from legal issues.
