Overview:

Yahoo! is hiring an experienced Product Manager – Data Acquisition, Development and Operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of public market financial data and the ability to manage and deliver data products to our clients successfully. They should also deeply understand investment vehicles, financial instruments, and markets across public equity, public debt, and other public asset classes.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Identify unique data sets, including financial and economic data from public sources such as SEC and FRED, as well as other unique data sources related to public markets.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to evaluate data acquisition opportunities and negotiate data licensing agreements.
• Work closely with engineering teams to develop data sets into products that deliver valuable insights to users.
• Take raw data and identify unique derivations and metrics from public sources to enhance product offerings.
• Define product requirements, prioritize features, and drive product development efforts from concept to launch.
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform product strategy and identify new opportunities for growth in public markets.
• Monitor product performance, gather user feedback, and iterate on product features to improve user engagement and satisfaction.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Data Operations around data tooling that can scale to optimize data operations and quality monitoring

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on data acquisition and development.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to derive insights from complex data sets.
• Experience working with engineering teams to develop data-driven products.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, results-oriented mindset.
• Knowledge of investment vehicles, financial instruments, and markets across public equity, public debt, and other public asset classes is a plus.
