MCA issued Clarification on Spending CSR Funds for “Har Ghar Tiranga” Campaign

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs(MCA) has issued Clarification on Spending CSR Funds for “Har Ghar Tiranga” Campaign vide General Circular No.8/2022 dated 26th July 2022.

“Har Ghar Tiranga”, a campaign under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, is aimed to invoke the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of the people and to promote awareness about the Indian National Flag.

In this regard, it is made clear that using CSR funds for campaign-related activities such as large-scale production and supply of the National Flag, outreach and amplification efforts, and other related activities is acceptable under item no. (ii) of Schedule VII of the Companies Act, 2013, which deals with promoting cultural education.

The aforementioned activities may be carried out by the companies as long as they abide by the Companies (CSR Policy) Rules, 2014 and any relevant circulars or clarifications that may be published from time to time by the ministry in question.
