Ministry of Culture Recruitment 2022: The Union Public Service Commission (USPC) has called in Applications from the Competent Candidates meeting Eligibility in reference to the Post Archivist (General) in the National Archive of India (NCI), Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
The Union Public Service Commission notified Ministry of Culture Recruitment 2022 has 13 Vacancies inclusive of 08 Posts for the Un-Reserved Category, 01 vacancy for EWS, 03 Nos. for OBC and 01 Vacancy for SC Community to be read in the UPSC issued Ministry of Culture Recruitment 2022 Notification.
Among the Eligible Personnel willing to be Applicants with reference to the Ministry of Culture Recruitment 2022 for Archivist (General) Post covered under General Central Service, Group ‘B’ Gazetted, Non-Ministerial may apply Online up to the Last Date terminating on 29th December 2022 (29.12.2022).

Pay Scale: Level 08 Level-8 (Rs. 47600 to Rs.151100) Per Month
Upper Age Limits (As on 29.12.2022): Not to exceed 30 Years for the Un-Reserved Category Candidates, and also Economically Weaker Section Candidates as on the Normal Closing Date. Maximum 33 Years in case of OBC Candidates and Scheduled Caste Candidates should not exceed 35 Years.
The Upper Age Limit is Relaxable up to 05 Years for the Regularly Appointed Central/Union Territory Government Servants as per the Government of India issued Instructions/Orders from time to time. For the Age Concessions Applicable to other Categories of Applicants, ‘Instructions and Additional Information for Candidates in respect of Recruitment by Selection are available for viewing.
As regards the Ex-Service-Men and Commissioned Officers including ECOs/SSCOs shall be Upper Age is relaxable by 05-years subject to the condition that Post-attestation on the Closing Date for receipt of Applications the continuous Service rendered in the Armed Forces by any Ex-Service-Man is Minimum 06 (Six) Months.
The Upper Age relaxation also remains available for the ECOs/SSCOs who have completed their Initial Period of Assignment of 05 (Five) Years of Military Service and whose Assignment has been extended beyond 05 (Five) Years as on the End Date of Online Registration of Application and in whose case the Ministry of Defence issues Certificates that they will be released within 03 (Three) Months on Selection from the Date of Receipt of Offer of Appointment.
Eligibility Conditions: The Eligible Candidate should have gained the following Academic and Professional Qualifications explained hereunder:
Essential Qualification(s): Any Competent Applicant desirous of applying for the Post Archivist (General) under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India should have the Prescribed Qualifications explained vide the Ministry of Culture Recruitment 2022 hereunder:
A: Educational Qualification: A Master’s Degree in History with a Paper in Modern Indian History from the Government of India Accredited University or Equivalent Institute.
Note I: Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in the case of Candidates otherwise well-qualified.
B. Experience:
a) Diploma in Archives and Record Management from any duly accredited University or Equivalent Institute and 02 Years’ Experience in an Archives Office in Supervisory Capacity/Research/Teaching of Modern Indian History at the Under-Graduate Level in any recognised Institution or University; Or
b) 03-Years’ Experience in an Archives Office in Supervisory Capacity/Research/Teaching of Modern Indian History at the Under Graduate Level in any duly recognised Educational Institution or University.
Desirable Qualification(s):
i) English as one of the Subjects of study at Degree Level
ii) Diploma or Certificate in Computer Applications or Information Technology
iii) Certificate of proficiency from any duly accredited University or Institute in Foreign or other Indian Languages besides Candidate’s Mother-tongue.
Note 1: The UPSC at its discretion, may relax the Fore-stated Qualifications in case of the Candidates, otherwise, well-qualified.
Note 2: The Candidate’s Qualification(s) about the Experience(s) is/are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for the reasons to be recorded in writing in the case of those belonging to the Scheduled Caste Community, if at any Selection Stage, the UPSC is of the opinion that the sufficient number of the Candidates from this Reserved Community having the Requisite Experience are Unlikely to be available for filling the vacancies reserved for them.
i) The Category-wise Minimum Level of Suitability in the Interviews (100 Marks), irrespective of whether the Selection is conducted only through Interview/Recruitment Test (RT) followed by the Interview, shall remain:
a) Un-Reserved Minimum Qualifying 50 Marks to be secured out of Aggregate 100 Marks.
b) Economically Weaker Sections 50 Marks.
c) Other Backward Community: 45 Marks,
d) Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Caste/Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD): 40 Marks.
ii) In cases where Selection is carried out by Recruitment Test (RT) followed by the Personal Interview, the Candidate will have to achieve the Minimum Level of Suitability in their respective Categories at the Interview Stage.
Note: In the event of the Applications received in large number submitted by the Applicants/Candidates, the Union Public Service Commission will adopt the Shortlisting Criteria to restrict the number of Candidates to be called for Interview to a Reasonable Number by Any or More of the Methodologies as mentioned hereunder:
a) “On the basis of Desirable Qualification (DQ) or any one or all of the Desirable Qualifications (DQs) if more than one Desirable Qualification is prescribed”.
b) On the basis of Higher Educational Qualifications than the Minimum Prescribed in the Advertisement.
c) On the basis of Higher Experience in the relevant field than the Minimum Prescribed in the Advertisement.
d) By counting the Prior Professional Work-Experience before or Post-acquiring the Essential Qualifications.
e) By invoking the Prior Work Experience even in cases where there is No Experience mentioned Either as Essential Qualification (EQ) Or as Desirable Qualification (DQ).
f) By holding a Recruitment Test (RT).
