Ministry of Defence Recruitment 2022: The Ministry of Defence has sought Applications from Experienced and Competent Officers duly meeting the Eligibility with reference to the Ministry of Defence Recruitment 2022 for the Post Senior Scientific Assistant (Mechanical) in the Department of Defence Production (DPD), Ministry of Defence.

Applying Modality for Ministry of Defence Recruitment 2022:

Among the Applicants Appropriately Eligible with reference to the Ministry of Defence Recruitment notification for Appointment as Senior Scientific Assistant (Mechanical) under the Directorate General of Aeronautical Quality Assurance, may apply with Online Recruitment Application Process for the General Central Service, Group ‘B’, Gazetted (Non-Ministerial) Post and complete ORA) Process up to 15.12.2022.  There are 02 Vacancies inclusive of 01 Post earmarked for the Un-Reserved Category and 01 Post reserved for OBC Candidates as mentioned in the Ministry of Defence Recruitment 2022 Notification for the Senior Scientific Assistant (Mechanical) Posts in the Defence Production Department.

According to the Notification of the Ministry of Defence Recruitment  2022, the Last Date is 15th December 2022 (15.12.2022) for the Eligible Candidates to complete the Online Recruitment Application Process. The ORA Process involves Online Recruitment Application with a Scanned Signature, Most Recent Photograph and Self-attested Testimonial Photostats in PDF Format, etc.

Selection Process for the Ministry of Defence Recruitment 2022:

The Ministry of Defence, at its discretion, shall carry through the Selection Process, especially Personal Interviews of the Shortlisted Candidates called for the Selection Process as has been explained in the Notification of the Ministry of Defence Recruitment 2022.

The Ministry of Defence, upon receipt of the Candidates’ Online Recruitment Applications (ORA), will carry out a detailed Scrutiny Process aimed at determining the Eligibility Criteria for the Candidates to be shortlisted for  Personal Interviews.  Subsequent to thorough scrutiny of the ORAs received from the Eligible Candidates observed as Eligible for Viva-voce, the Candidates would be called for Personal Interviews.

Selection Process: Personal Interview

Upper Age Limits (As on 15.12.2022): Maximum 30 Years for the General Merit Candidate. For Scheduled Castes Maximum Age is 33 Years. The Ministry of Defence has made a provision for relaxing the Upper Age Limits for the Regularly Appointed Central/Union Territory Government Servants up to 05 Years as per the Government of India stipulated Instructions/Orders from time to time. For Concessions in the Age Applicable to other Categories of Applicants, ‘Instructions and Additional Information for the Candidates in respect of Recruitments by Selection are available for viewing.

Note 1: As regards Ex-Servicemen and Commissioned Officers including ECOs/SSCOs shall be Upper Age is relaxable by 05-Years subject to the condition that on the closing date for receipt of Applications the continuous Service rendered in the Armed Forces by an Ex-Serviceman is Minimum 06 (Six) Months Post-attestation. This Upper Age Limit Relaxation is also available to ECOs/SSCOs who have completed their Initial Period of Assignment of 05 (Five) Years of Military Service and whose Assignment has been extended beyond Five Years as on the End Date of Online Registration of Application and in whose case the Ministry of Defence issues Certificates that they will be released within 03 Months on Selection from the date of Receipt of Offer of Appointment. The Candidates claiming Age relaxation under this Para would need to submit/produce a Certificate in the prescribed Proforma to the Ministry of Defence Recruitment.

With the aim of qualifying for Concession in the Age Limits hereinabove, the Candidates Concerned would need to submit/produce a Certificate issued by the Government of India that they have been discharged/relieved from the Defence Forces. The Certificate for Ex-Service-Men and Commissioned Officers including the ECOs/SSCOs must have been signed by the Appropriate Authority/ies specified hereunder and should also specify the Service Tenure in the Defence Forces explained hereunder vide the Ministry of Defence Recruitment 2022:

1) In respect of the Commissioned Officers including the ECOs/SSCOs:

A) Indian Army: Directorate of Personnel Service, Army Headquarters, New Delhi.

B) Indian Navy: Directorate of Personnel Services Naval Headquarters, New Delhi.

C) Indian Air Force: Directorate of Personnel Services, Air Headquarters, New Delhi.

2) In regards to the JCOs/ORs and Equivalent of the Indian Navy and Indian Air Forces:

A) Indian Army: By various Regimental Record Offices.

B) Indian Navy: Naval Records, Mumbai

C) Indian Air Force: Air Force Records, New Delhi.

Essential Eligibility: The Applicant should have in possession the following Essential Eligibility.

Educational Qualification(s):  A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Technology from any Government of India duly recognized University with 01 Year’s Experience in the relevant field (i.e., Computer from any of the Government of India Duly Recognized Organisations); Or

Associate Member of Institute of Engineers (AMIE) India.

Desirable: Associate Member of the Institute of Engineers (AMIE) with 01 Year’s Experience in the Mechanical Domain from the Government of India accredited Organization(s). (Only Students who were enrolled with the Institutions with Permanent Recognition up to 31.05.2013 are Eligible to be Applicants)

Note-I: The Term “Duly Recognized Organization” for 01 Year’s Essential Experience in Mechanical Field, shall include the Offices of the Central Government/State Government/ Union Territories/Public Sector Undertakings/Semi-Government/Statutory Organization/Autonomous Organisation and the Companies Duly Registered under the Companies Act 2013.

Note 1: The Ministry of Defence, at its discretion, may relax the aforestated Qualifications in case of the Candidates, otherwise, well-qualified.

Note 2: The Candidate’s Qualification(s) about the Experience is/are relaxable at the discretion of the Ministry of Defence, for reasons to be recorded in writing in the case of those belonging to the Scheduled Caste Community, if at any stage of selection, the Ministry of Defence is of the opinion that the sufficient number of the candidates from this Community having the Requisite Experience are unlikely to be available for filling up the vacancies reserved for them.

Recruitment Test Selection and Other Criteria vide Ministry of Defence Recruitment 2022

Methodology for Ministry of Defence Recruitment 2022 in the Ministry of Defence:

Note-II: In the event of Applications received in a large number submitted by the Applicants/Candidates, the Ministry of Defence Recruitment will adopt the Shortlisting Criteria in order to restrict the number of Eligible Candidates to be called for the Interview to a Reasonable Number by Any or More of the Methodologies as mentioned hereunder:

a) “On the basis of Desirable Qualification (DQ) or any one or all of the Desirable Qualifications (DQs) if more than one Desirable Qualification is prescribed”.

b) On the basis of Higher Educational Qualifications than the Minimum Prescribed in the Advertisement.

c) On the basis of Higher Experience in the relevant field than the Minimum Prescribed in the Advertisement.

d) By counting the Prior Professional Work-Experience before or Post-acquiring Essential Qualifications.

e) By invoking the Prior Work Experience even in cases where there is No Experience mentioned Either as Essential Qualification (EQ) Or as Desirable Qualification (DQ).

f) By holding a Recruitment Test (RT).

Therefore the Candidate should mention all His or Her Qualifications and Experience in the relevant Field over and above the Minimum Qualifications.

Note-III: Important Points:

Personality Test / Viva-voce carries Total 100 Marks as explained hereunder:

i) The Category-wise Minimum Level of Suitability in the Interviews (100 Marks), irrespective of whether the Selection is made only through an Interview or by Recruitment Test (RT) followed by the Interview, shall remain:

a) Un-Reserved Minimum Qualifying 50 Marks to be secured out of Aggregate 100 Marks. b) Economically Weaker Sections 50 Marks. c) Other Backward Community: 45 Marks, c) Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Caste/Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD): 40 Marks.

ii) In cases where Selection is carried through by way of the Recruitment Test (RT) followed by the Personal Interview, the Candidate will have to achieve the Minimum Level of Suitability in their respective Categories at the Interview Stage as explained in the afore-stated Lines.

Application Fee and Payment Mode for Ministry of Defence Recruitment 2022:

a) The Candidates shall need to pay an Application Fee of Rs. 25 (Rupees Twenty-five only) only either by remitting the Money in any Branch of the State Bank of India through Payment Gateway in Cash or by using the Net-banking Facility of the State Bank of India or by using Visa/Master Credit/Debit Card or RuPay/UPI as is informed in the Ministry of Defence Notification for Ministry of Defence Recruitment 2022.

b) Reserved Community (SC/ST/PwBD) and Women Candidates under any Community remain Exempt from paying the Application Fee.
