MRF Gets Full Relief as Rs. 182.08 Crore Income Tax Demand Reduced to Nil
MRF Limited informed the stock exchanges about its ongoing tax disputes.
The company had filed appeals with the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal for two years—2015‑16 and 2016‑17 against tax demands of about Rs. 89.62 crores and Rs.92.46 crores.
In both cases, the Tribunal partly accepted MRF’s appeals and sent the remaining matters back to the Assessing Officer for fresh review.
As a result, the earlier tax demands have now been reduced to nil, meaning MRF does not currently owe any tax under these disputes.
There are no cases against its management or promoters, and no settlements or penalties were reported.
