Post Office Recruitment 2023: The Indian Department of Posts, Ministry of Communication & IT has issued a notification for the recruitment of Staff Car Drivers (Ordinary Grade) in the Chennai region. The notification invites applications from eligible Indian citizens for the post of Staff Car Driver in the General Central Service, Group-C, Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial category. There are total of 58 vacancies. As per Post Office Recruitment 2023 official notification, The pay scale for the position is in the range of Rs. 19900-63200/- plus admissible allowances. The last date to submit applications is 31st March 2023 by 17:00 hours.
As per Post Office Recruitment 2023 official notification, the eligibility criteria for the post of Staff Car Driver include possessing a valid driving license for light & heavy motor vehicles, knowledge of motor mechanisms, the experience of driving light & heavy motor vehicles for at least three years and passing 10th standard from a recognized board or institute. Additionally, candidates who have completed three years of service in the Home Guard or are Civil Volunteers are preferred. The selection of candidates will be based on the examination pattern and syllabus, as specified in the Annexure.

As per Post Office Recruitment 2023 official notification, the age limit criteria for the post of Staff Car Driver (Ordinary Grade) in the Chennai Tamilnadu Circle is as follows:
For candidates belonging to the UR (Unreserved) and EWS (Economically Weaker Sections) categories, the minimum age limit is 18 years and the maximum age limit is 27 years.
However, there is a relaxation in the upper age limit for candidates belonging to the SC (Scheduled Castes) and ST (Scheduled Tribes) categories. Such candidates are allowed a relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit, which means that the maximum age limit for SC/ST candidates is 32 years.
Similarly, candidates belonging to the OBC (Other Backward Classes) category are allowed a relaxation of 3 years in the upper age limit, which means that the maximum age limit for OBC candidates is 30 years.
In addition, candidates who are already serving as government servants are allowed relaxation in the upper age limit as per the instructions or orders issued by the Central Government, up to a maximum of 40 years.
Ex-Servicemen are also allowed a relaxation in the upper age limit up to a maximum of 3 years, which is further relaxed to 8 years (3+5) for SC/ST candidates and 6 years (3+3) for OBC candidates, after deduction of the Military Service rendered from the actual age.
As per Post office Recruitment 2023 official notification, candidates applying for the post of Staff Car Driver should possess a valid driving license for light & heavy motor vehicles, knowledge of Motor Mechanisms, and experience of driving light & heavy motor vehicles for at least three years, and pass in 10 Standard from a recognized Board or Institute. It is desirable for candidates to have three years’ service as Home Guard or Civil Volunteer.
As per Post office Recruitment 2023 official notification, the selection process will be based on the examination pattern and syllabus as per the Annexure, and selected candidates will be allotted to divisions/ units wherever vacancies are available on the basis of merit and preference.

The last date for receipt of application is 31-03-2023 by 1700 Hours, and the applications must be sent only through Speed Post/Registered Post.
Candidates should ensure that they provide all the necessary details and attach all the required documents with the application form. The documents that need to be attached include a valid driving license for light & heavy motor vehicles, experience certificates, and educational qualifications.
