The Punjab Public Service Commission is inviting Online Application Forms for the recruitment of 11 Posts of District Defence Services Welfare Officer (Group-A) in the Department of Defence Services Welfare, Government of Punjab. Age Limit for PPSC Recruitment 2023:

As per PPSC Recruitment 2023 official notification, the age criteria for the recruitment of District Defence Services Welfare Officer (Group-A) in the Department of Defence Services Welfare, Government of Punjab are as follows:

• The minimum age of the candidate should be 25 years as of 01/01/2023.
• The maximum age of the candidate should be 55 years as of 01/01/2023.
• Ex-Indian Commissioned Officers who have received gallantry awards of the Vir Chakra series, i.e., Param Vir Chakra, Maha Vir Chakra, or Vir Chakra, can get relaxation up to 56 years of age.

Qualification for PPSC Recruitment 2023:

As per PPSC Recruitment 2023 official notification, the candidates must meet certain essential educational qualifications. Firstly, the candidate must be an Ex-Indian Commissioned Officer of the rank of Colonel or Lieutenant Colonel or an equivalent rank in the Indian Navy or Indian Air Force. However, in exceptional circumstances and with written reasons recorded by the government, this condition may be relaxed. In case no suitable person as specified in this clause is available, an Ex-Emergency Commissioned Officer of any of the ranks mentioned therein shall be eligible for appointment to the service. Additionally, the candidate must produce a release order and a Pension Payment Order issued by the concerned authorities. Lastly, the candidate must be a Matriculate of a recognized university or possess equivalent qualifications. It is important to note that the Indian Army, Air Force, or Navy Special Certificate of Education will be treated as equivalent to Matriculation Certificate.

Furthermore, candidates must have passed Punjabi of Matric or its equivalent standard. In case a ward of Defence Service Personnel, who is a bona fide resident of Punjab State, is appointed by direct appointment, he/she shall have to pass an examination of Punjabi Language equivalent to Matriculation Standard or qualify a test conducted by the Language Wing of the Department of Education of Punjab Government within two years from the date of appointment. However, a War Hero, who has been discharged from defense services or paramilitary forces on account of disability suffered by him/her and his/her widow or dependent member of his/her family, is appointed under the instructions issued by the government, the person so appointed will not be required to possess the knowledge of Punjabi language as mentioned above.

It is important to note that the candidates MUST possess the requisite educational qualifications before or by 12/04/2023.

Salary for PPSC Recruitment 2023:

As per PPSC Recruitment 2023 official notification, the initial pay for selected candidates will be Rs. 47600.

Selection Process for PPSC Recruitment 2023:

As per PPSC Recruitment 2023 official notification, the selection process for the post of District Defence Services Welfare Officer (Group-A) in the Department of Defence Services Welfare, Government of Punjab comprises a written competitive examination and an interview.

Written Competitive Examination:

The written competitive examination will have 120 questions, with a total of 480 marks. The examination pattern will comprise multiple-choice questions and will test candidates on their General Knowledge and Current Affairs, General Mental Ability, Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, and Punjabi. Candidates will be penalized with a negative marking for every incorrect answer, with one mark being deducted from the total score for each incorrect answer. The duration of the examination will be two hours.

Syllabus

The syllabus for the written examination includes General Knowledge & Current Affairs, General Mental Ability, Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, and Punjabi.

Marking Scheme

Each question carries four marks, with four marks awarded for every correct answer. There is negative marking of one mark for every incorrect answer.

Answer Key

An answer key will be uploaded on the PPSC website after the written examination, and candidates will be given four days to raise objections, if any.

Scrutiny of Application Forms and Testimonials

All candidates will be treated as “provisionally eligible” for appearing in the competitive exam. Scrutiny of application forms and other relevant documents will be done after the conduct of the examination to determine their eligibility. Candidates not meeting the eligibility criteria will be rejected after the scrutiny process or any time thereafter if found ineligible.

Interview

Candidates who have scored a minimum of 40 percent marks in the written examination (35% for candidates of Scheduled Castes of Punjab and Backward Classes of Punjab) will be shortlisted for the interview. Candidates will be shortlisted in order of merit of the written examination, with not more than two times the total number of posts being shortlisted.

As per PPSC Recruitment 2023 official notification, the application process for the PPSC (Punjab Public Service Commission) requires candidates to fill out an online application form, which is available on the official website of the Commission.  It is important to note that no other mode of application will be accepted. The last date for filling out the online application form is 12/04/2023, and candidates must complete the process by 11:59:00 PM.
