Private Hospital in Hyderabad fined Rs 24 crore for Fraud in Property Assessments
After providing misleading information in the property tax self-assessment application, a private hospital in the city was hit with hefty fines. SLG Hospital in Bachupally has received warnings from the Nizampet Municipal Corporation with a hefty penalty of Rs 24 crore.
In contrast to the hospital's actual built-up area, which includes two vaults and a G+9 structure above it, which is 10 lakh square feet, according to the corporation's notice, the hospital stated was 32,300 square feet on a four-acre land piece. This was discovered when the corporation recently looked over the hospital's property tax records. According to sources, when the civic officials reevaluated the property, they found a significant discrepancy between the healthcare facility's tax payment and the real location where it was located.
Turns out, SLG was paying only Rs 49.4 lakh until now. This is when the actual tax as determined by the urban local body is Rs 96.1 lakh.
