ROC Filing 2025: Use offline utility for quicker and smoother Annual Filing, Says ICSI The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, recently shared an advisory on December 16, 2025, regarding the deadline extension of filing financial statements and annual returns. The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), through circular (No. 06/2025) dated October 17, 2025, has declared an extension of the deadline for filing financial statements and annual returns to December 31, 2025, for the Financial Year 2024-25.

MCA added that even after this extension, less than 30% of companies have completed their filings so far, which is very low. As the final due date is approaching, professionals need to speed up the filing work now. Because a lot of people have not filed yet, the system may get overloaded. This can cause delays, slowdowns, or technical problems, making it difficult for everyone to file on time during the last two weeks. Therefore, all professionals are recommended to complete their filings before December 31, 2025 and not wait till the last date.

MCA further said that it has also been noticed that using the offline utility for annual filing is quicker and smoother than filing online. Therefore, it is better to use the offline utility to save time and avoid technical issues.
