ICSI Requests Members to Ensure Timely Compliance with Annual Filing Deadline for FY 2024-25 The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) has recently issued an advisory under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) to ensure the timely completion of annual filings for the financial year 2024-25, as the due date is approaching. The advisory is addressed to all professional colleagues. At the beginning of the advisory, the ICSI reminds all the colleagues that the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has extended the due date for filing financial statements and annual returns for the financial year 2024-25, till December 31, 2025, vide its circular no. 06/2025 dated October 17, 2025.

The MCA has recently emphasised the fact that the number of filings this year is significantly lower in comparison to last financial year, i.e., FY 2023-24. Hence, the ministry has advised all the liable taxpayers to complete their annual filings before the statutory deadline without hoping for a deadline extension. As it is not always confirmed that the deadline will be extended, and last-minute submissions often face technical glitches in the portal, many times the portal even crashes. Additionally, missing the statutory deadline can lead to several legal consequences, like the issuance of notices and penalties.

Therefore, the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) has recommended that all members complete their annual filings for associated companies promptly to avoid a last-minute rush.
