Rs 19,425 Monthly Wage for Highly Skilled Workers from April 2026: Haryana Announces New Wage Rates

The Haryana Government’s Labour Department has issued a new notification announcing the revision of the minimum wages for workers in the state. These new wage rates are applicable from 1st April 2026 for types of employment covered under the Code on Wages, 2019.

According to the notification, workers have been divided into four categories based on skill level. These include Unskilled, Semi-Skilled, Skilled, and Highly-Skilled workers.

Revised Wage Rates

Here are the new monthly minimum wages based on the skill level:

  • Unskilled workers: Rs 15,220.71 per month (Rs 585.41 per day)
  • Semi-skilled workers: Rs 16,780.74 per month (Rs 645.41 per day)
  • Skilled workers: Rs 18,500.81 per month (Rs 711.56 per day)
  • Highly-skilled workers: Rs 19,425.85 per month (Rs 747.14 per day)

Applicability of these Rates

The government has said that these wages will apply to all establishments defined under sections 2(m), 2(n), 2(k), 2(z), and 2(g) of the Code on Wages, 2019. These include factories, employees, workers and contract labourers. Employers must ensure that the workers are not paid less than these specified minimum rates. It was stated that Brick kiln wages will be notified separately.

Key Rules

The notification also specifies some important rules. These are as follows:

  • There should not be any difference between the wages offered to men and women workers.
  • Trainees must be paid at least 75% of the applicable wage, but not less than the unskilled minimum wage.
  • Wage adjustments will also consider the fall or rise in the cost price index number on a pro rata basis.
  • To calculate per-day wages, the monthly wages must be divided by 26 days. But for calculating deductions, the monthly wages must be divided by 30 days or as prescribed by the government.
  • If workers are hired through a contractor or service provider, the employer is still responsible for making sure they get paid as per the minimum wage rates.
