SAIL Recruitment 2023: The Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) is one of the largest state-owned steel-making companies in India. Headquartered in New Delhi, the company operates numerous integrated steel plants across India. Durgapur Steel Plant (DSP), a unit of SAIL, is located in the industrial city of Durgapur, West Bengal.
SAIL invites qualified doctors in medical disciplines to participate in the walk-in interview process for contractual engagement at DSP. Interested candidates can appear for a walk-in interview for the post of GDMO & Specialists at DSP. However, ex-employees of SAIL and other PSUs/Govt. who have been separated by opting for voluntary retirement will not be considered for engagement. As per SAIL Recruitment 2023 Official Notification the tenure of engagement for the initial contract will be one year from the date of joining, which can be further extended for a period of up to one year. The maximum period for engagement under the same contract would not be more than three years. As per SAIL Recruitment 2023 Official Notification there will be no bar on re-engagement, but the tenure of engagement shall be subject to the upper age limit of 69 years.
As per SAIL Recruitment 2023 Official Notification the selected candidates will be engaged as GDMO and Specialists on a contractual basis. This recruitment drive is for a total of 8 posts – 4 for GDMO and 4 for Specialists in various disciplines, including Blood Bank, Chest Medicine, Paediatrics, and Radiology.

As per SAIL Recruitment 2023 Official Notification the monthly consolidated remuneration for GDMOs is Rs. 90,000/- per month, while for specialists, it ranges from Rs. 1,20,000/- per month to Rs. 1,60,000/- per month, depending on their qualifications. The job description for GDMOs is to work in various departments of M&HS as and when required, while specialists have to work in their respective departments of specialty.
As per SAIL Recruitment 2023, Official Notification the contractual engagement of GDMO and Specialists at Durgapur Steel Plant will be conducted through a walk-in interview. Interested and eligible candidates need to submit an advance copy of the filled-in application in the prescribed format latest by 04.03.2023. The subject line of the email should be “ENGAGEMENT OF DOCTORS IN MEDICAL DISCIPLINES ON CONTRACT BASIS AT DSP – 2023”, and it should be sent to [email protected].
After the completion of the selection process, the engagement of selected candidates will start immediately, and orders for their engagement as GDMO or Specialists will be issued. Candidates responding to the advertisement will have to submit an undertaking (Annexure-A) in this regard.
Overall, the selection process for the contractual engagement of GDMO and Specialists at Durgapur Steel Plant is a straightforward and transparent process, where candidates can apply for the position through a walk-in interview and have an opportunity to work in various departments of M&HS as and when required or in the respective department of their specialty.

As per SAIL Recruitment 2023 Official notification selection of the candidates for contractual engagement as GDMO/Specialists will be done through walk-in interview. However, an advance copy of the filled-in application in the prescribed format may be sent to [email protected] with the subject line as “ENGAGEMENT OF DOCTORS IN MEDICAL DISCIPLINES ON CONTRACT BASIS AT DSP – 2023” latest by 04.03.2023. Candidates responding to the advertisement will have to submit an undertaking in this regard. All certificates and documents in support of eligibility will be verified during the walk-in interview. Any candidate who fails to produce the same will not be allowed to appear at the interview.
The interview will be held on March 6, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Office of CMO I/c(M&HS), DSP Main Hospital, Durgapur-713205, Paschim Bardhaman, West Bengal.
Interested and eligible candidates are required to bring all relevant documents, both original and photocopies, including a filled-in application form (Annexure-B) with four passport size color photographs, proof of date of birth, pass certificates, mark-sheets, experience certificates, and valid registration certificates. Additionally, candidates will have to provide a photo identity proof, caste certificate (if applicable), and an undertaking w.r.t. voluntary retirement/separation.
