SBI Recruitment 2023: The State Bank of India has released an advertisement inviting online applications from Indian citizens for the engagement of retired officers of SBI, erstwhile Associates Banks of SBI (e-ABs), and other PSBs for the post of Business Correspondent Facilitator on a contractual basis. Candidates can apply online through the link given on the Bank’s website from March 10, 2023, to March 31, 2023. However, before applying, candidates must ensure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria for the post as of the date of eligibility. As per SBI Recruitment 2023 official notification, the online application should contain all the required documents like ID proof, age proof, etc. Failing to upload these documents will lead to the rejection of the application/candidature. The candidature/shortlisting of a candidate will be provisional and will be subject to satisfactory verification of all details/documents with the originals when a candidate reports for the interview.

As per SBI Recruitment 2023 official notification, the Bank has a total of 868 provisional vacancies across various circles in India. The number of vacancies mentioned is subject to actual requirements, and the bank reserves the right to post the engaged retired officers anywhere in India as per its requirement. The Business Correspondent Facilitator will be deployed within the circle of the posting. The selected candidates will receive remuneration as per the bank’s policy. Candidates who are called for the interview shall attend at their own expense. They are advised to check the bank’s website regularly for details and updates, including the list of shortlisted/selected candidates. Name and Number of Vacancy for SBI Recruitment 2023:

As per SBI Recruitment 2023 official notification, the name of the post is Business Correspondent Facilitator and the user department is Financial Inclusion (FI) Department. The total number of vacancies for this post is 868, which are distributed among different circles. The number of vacancies mentioned is provisional and may vary according to the actual requirement of the Bank.

SBI Recruitment 2023:

The vacancies are categorized into different categories such as SC, ST, OBC, EWS, GEN, and PWD. The distribution of vacancies among these categories is as follows:

  • SC: 136
  • ST: 57
  • OBC: 216
  • EWS: 80
  • GEN: 379
  • PWD: 18 (horizontal)

The vacancies for PWD are horizontal, which means that they are distributed across different categories of disability such as VI (Visual Impaired), HI (Deaf & Hearing impaired), LD (Locomotor Disability), and d&e (Category as provided under Section 34(1) d & e of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act 2016).

Eligibility Criteria for SBI Recruitment 2023:

As per SBI Recruitment 2023 official notification, the eligibility criteria for fresh engagement for retired officers of SBI, e-ABs, and other PSBs include the following:

  1. The retired officer should have retired from the bank’s service only on attaining superannuation at the age of 60 years. Officers who voluntarily retired, resigned, suspended, or left the bank otherwise before superannuation are not eligible.
  2. The engagement shall be up to the maximum age of 65 years, subject to other conditions regarding the renewal of the contract. Ex-officers should not be more than 63 years of age as on the date of advertisement.
  3. The retired officers should have a good track record of performance and deep knowledge of the Bank’s systems and procedures.
  4. The integrity of the retired officers should not have been doubtful.
  5. No punishment/ penalty (Censure or higher) should have been inflicted on the retired officers during the five years of his/her service preceding his/her retirement.
  6. Cases of CBI or other law enforcement agencies should not be pending against the retired officials.
  7. Retired officers should maintain good health and not suffer from any major ailments.
  8. The engagement of retired officers in the Bank shall be on a contract basis and shall not be treated as an extension in service for the purpose of pension and other superannuation benefits.
  9. The retired officers of SBI, e-Associate banks and other PSBs with unblemished service records who retired in Scale-I to Scale-VII shall be considered for engagement.
  10. The retired officers will not exercise any administrative/financial power during the period of engagement.
  11. The retired officer shall not be eligible for reimbursement of medical or any other benefits during the engagement period.
  12. The number of vacancies including reserved vacancies mentioned above is provisional and may vary according to the actual requirement of the Bank.
  13. Candidates belonging to the OBC category but coming in the ‘creamy layer’ are not entitled to OBC reservations.
  14. A caste certificate issued by Competent Authority on format prescribed by the Government of India will have to be submitted by the SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates.
  15. A declaration will have to be submitted in the prescribed format by candidates seeking reservation under OBC category stating that he/she does not belong to the creamy layer as on the last date of online registration of the application.
  16. The maximum age indicated is for General category candidates. No Relaxation in the upper age limit will be available to reserved category candidates.
  17. PWD candidates should produce a certificate issued by a competent authority as per the Government of India Guidelines.
  18. Reservation for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) in engagement is governed by Office Memorandum no. 36039/1/2019-Estt (Res) dt. 31.01.2019 of Department of Personnel & Training, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievance & Pensions, Government of India. EWS vacancies are tentative and subject to further directives of the Government of India and the outcome of any litigation.
  19. The educational qualification required is not specific, as the applicants are retired officers of SBI, e-ABs & Other PSBs. However, retired personnel should have sufficient work experience and overall professional competence in the relevant area.
  20. The retired personnel should possess the special skill/ aptitude/ quality, as per the requirement for the post.

Selection Process for SBI Recruitment 2023:

As per SBI Recruitment 2023 official notification, the selection process for fresh engagement will consist of two stages: shortlisting and interview. The shortlisting committee constituted by the Bank will decide the shortlisting parameters, and an adequate number of candidates will be shortlisted based on those parameters and called for an interview. The decision to call candidates for the interview will be final, and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard.

The interview will carry 100 marks, and the qualifying marks will be decided by the Bank. The merit list for final selection will be prepared based on the scores obtained in the interview, subject to the candidate scoring minimum qualifying marks. In case more than one candidate scores common cut-off marks, they will be ranked in the merit in descending order of their age.

It is important to note that no TA/DA will be paid to the candidates appearing in the Interview process, and the merit list will be drawn circle-wise, and category-wise. The Bank will preferably post the candidates in the Circle for which they are applying, and in the event of their selection, they will not be entitled to inter-circle transfer. The decision of the interview committee will be final and binding in this regard.

Salary for SBI Recruitment 2023:

As per SBI Recruitment 2023 official notification, the remuneration for Business Correspondent Facilitators (BCFs) will be paid on a monthly basis. Retired officers engaged as BCFs will be paid a uniform monthly remuneration of Rs. 40,000 without any perquisites, irrespective of their grades and without prejudice to their pension. The remuneration will be based on the percentage of visits made by the BCFs to the allotted Customer Service Points (CSPs), as follows:

  • 90% or more visits: Full remuneration
  • 80% to up to 90% visits: 80% of the remuneration
  • 70% to up to 80% visits: 70% of the remuneration
  • Below 70% visits: 50% of the remuneration

The following criteria will be applicable:

a. Each CSP must be visited by the BCF every month. If any CSPs are not visited in the previous month, they must be necessarily visited in the current month, otherwise, only 50% remuneration will be paid. b. Remuneration will be paid to BCFs in the first week of the following month. The BCF will be required to provide a certificate detailing the CSP visits made during the month and submit it on the last date of the month. c. If the BCF’s CSP visits are less than 70% for two months, a notice of one month will be given, and if there is no improvement, the services of the BCF will be terminated.

The compensation amount for BCFs is on a lump-sum basis and without prejudice to their pension. The bank will not provide any provision for house/furniture or other benefits/perquisites, membership in Provident Fund/pension fund, and gratuity during the contract period, and no other claim will be entertained. The income tax will be deducted at source as per the rates mentioned in the extant IT rules as applicable.

How to Apply for SBI Recruitment 2023:

To apply for the job, candidates should have a valid email ID that should be active till the declaration of the result. This email ID will help them in receiving call letters, interview advice, and other important information by email.

As per SBI Recruitment 2023 official notification, the application process is online and can be completed through the link available on the SBI website. After registering online, candidates should take a printout of the system-generated application form.

Before filling out the online application form, candidates should scan their latest photograph and signature. Online application will not be considered complete unless the candidate uploads his/her photo and signature as per the guidelines specified under ‘How to Upload Document’. Candidates should fill out the application form carefully and submit it after filling it out completely.

If a candidate is not able to fill the application in one go, he/she can save the partly filled ‘Form’. On doing this, a provisional registration number & password will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen. Candidates should carefully note down the registration number & password. The partly filled & saved application form can be re-opened using the registration number & password where-after the particulars can be edited if needed. This facility for editing the saved information will be available for three times only.

Once the application is filled out completely, the candidate should submit the application form.
