UPSC CSE Results 2023 Out: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) declared the final results for the UPSC CSE (Civil Services Examination) for 2022 today, 23rd May 2023. The UPSC published the official result Pdf containing successful candidates’ names and roll numbers in ascending order. A total of 933 candidates have been recommended for service. Just like the previous year, this year too, women bagged the top 3 ranks in this prestigious examination. Ishita Kishore bagged the 1st rank in the UPSC CSE Result, 2023.
According to the commission, 345 of the total suggested applicants are from the general category, 99 are from the EWS category, 263 are from the OBC category, 154 are SC candidates, and 72 are ST candidates. The commission stated that the candidature of the 101 recommended candidates is provisional. The provisional candidates’ roll numbers have also been published in the result pdf. 178 candidates have been put on the reserve list. The marks of all candidates will be available on the official website after 15 days from the declaration of the result, i.e., 15 days from 23rd May 2023.
The commission has also released detailed information regarding the number of candidates recommended for various services like IPS, IFS, IAS, etc. The same has been mentioned below:
Candidates who took the personality test can view their results on the official website of the UPSC. Around 11,35,697 individuals applied for this examination, with 5,73,735 candidates actually taking the test. The UPSC CSE preliminary test took place on June 5, 2022, and the results were announced on June 22, 2022, in which 13,090 candidates qualified for the Written (Main) Examination. The main examination was held from September 16 to September 25, 2022, and the results were announced on December 6, where 2,529 candidates qualified for the Personality Test. The interviews were completed on May 18, 2023.
This is the second year in a row that female applicants have finished first, second, and third in one of India’s most coveted exams. Women have secured 6 spots among the top 10 in UPSC Civil Services final result 2022 and 14 women and 11 men are in the Top 25 rank. The first ranker Ishita Kishore completed her Economics Hons undergraduate degree in 2017 from Delhi University’s Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC). In the year 2017, she joined Ernst and Young as a Risk Analyst and quit her job in 2019 to prepare for the UPSC Civil Services exam. She achieved this feat in her third attempt. She has opted for Uttar Pradesh Cadre.
