Want to make donation in Nation Defence Fund: Here is the process
The National Defence Fund (NDF) was set up in 1962. The Fund is used for the welfare of the members of the Armed Forces (including Para Military Forces) and their dependents.
All contributions towards NDF are 100% exempt from Income Tax under section 80(G).
1. You can visit ndf.gov.in, pmindia.gov.in and www.onlinesbi.com website of State Bank of India.
2. You need to give your basic details like Name, Email, Phone Number and Address
3. Enter PAN and the amount you want to donate.
4. The minimum amount you can donate online is Rs. 100.
5. You can use Net-Banking and UPI to contribute.
Both residents and Non-residents can donate to Nation Defence Fund. However Govt Bodies and PSU’s cannot donate in NDF.
Please also note that no deduction is allowed for donations to NDF in New Tax Regime.
Taxpayers opting for Old Tax Regime can claim 100% Tax Deduction at time of filing their Income Tax Return.
