Chennai Air Customs Arrests a Passenger at Airport for Smuggling Goldpaste Worth Rs.5.37 lakh
On 06.02.2022, Chennai Air Customs agents intercepted a male passenger arriving from Colombo on Indigo Airlines Flight 6E 1208 and discovered one packet containing gold in paste form concealed in his person. During the extraction, one 123-gram ingot was discovered and seized.
The passenger was attempting to smuggle 123 grams of goldpaste worth Rs.5.37 Lakhs.
A total of 123 gms of Gold totally worth Rs.5.37 Lakhs seized under the Customs Act, 1962.
The passenger is under custody and further investigation is under process.
Based on intel, Chennai Customs AIU Officers intercepted a pax who arr'd from Colombo by Indigo flight 6E-1208 on 6/2/22.
