The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India(ICAI) thanks Hon’ble Union Finance Minister Ms. Nirmala Sitharaman ji for inviting ICAI to discuss matters related to profession.

In the midst of some chartered accountants being investigated for allegedly fraudulent GST refunds, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman met with a delegation from the chartered accountants’ apex body, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), on Monday to discuss “various issues.”

The ICAI delegation, led by Vice President of ICAI, Aniket Talati alongwith CCMs Rajendra Kumar, CA Kemisha Soni, CA. Prasanna Kumar D. & CA Umesh Sharma discussed the current matter at CGST Gurugram, actions taken alongwith the future roadmap. Discussions were also held regd. creating awareness & propagation of Govt. policies amongst public at large & to further strengthen the involvement of ICAI with Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Corporate Affairs.

Ms Sitharaman praised the ICAI’s efforts to interact with stakeholders. According to the tweets, ICAI officials will continue to employ the recently established ‘CA, CWA, and CS Act’ to instil professional discipline and ethics among its members.

ICAI also extended a warm invitation to Hon’ble Minister for the 21st World Congress of Accountants to be held in Mumbai from 18th to 21st November 2022.
