Chief Commissioner of Income Tax meets Tea Planters in Dibrugarh

The Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Shillong, Amrendra Kumar met with tea planters and manufacturers from Dibrugarh and neighbouring districts on Wednesday.

The goal of the event was to connect with tea industry veterans, discuss the issues they confront, and highlight the different tax deductions available to them under the Income Tax Act. The gathering was held at the HM Resort in Dibrugarh as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, a series of activities organised by the Government of India to celebrate and remember 75 years of Indian independence.

The session saw a fruitful conversation in which the Chief Commissioner demonstrated his grasp of the difficulties confronting the tea business. He emphasised the necessity of capitalising on existing tax breaks to promote industry growth and development.

The Chief Commissioner also emphasised the importance of tea planters and manufacturers in the economy, recognising their contributions to employment and foreign exchange revenues. The Chief Commissioner was accompanied by the Joint Commissioner of Income Tax, Anand Kumar, and the Joint Commissioner of Income Tax, Jibanta Kumar Das, both of whom contributed significantly to the conversation.
