IT Department Seeks Public Support to Curb Black Money in Maharashtra Municipal Elections 2025-26

The Income Tax Department, Office of the Principal Director of Income Tax (Investigation), has recently issued an appeal to the general public of Vidarbha, Marathwada, and North Maharashtra to cooperate with the government in finding out individuals using black money during the Maharashtra Municipal Corporation Election 2025-26.

The move is aimed at restricting the use of black money and ensuring fair practice during the elections. The general public has been instructed not to hesitate to share black money-related information with the government if they have seen anyone distributing cash, as the government will keep their identity private.
