Delhi High Court Orders Removal of CA from ICAI Register for One Year

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has issued a notification (No. 29-CA/Law/D-355/2026, dated 4th February 2026) announcing the removal of the name of a chartered accountant from its Register of Members due to professional misconduct.

As per the notification, this decision was made after the order passed by the Division Bench of the Delhi High Court under Section 21(6)(c) of the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949. As per this order, the name of Shri Kishan Gupta, Chartered Accountant, will be removed from the Register of Members for one year, as he was found guilty of “Other Misconduct” under Section 22 read with Section 21 of the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949.

After this High Court’s order, ICAI officially published this notification stating that his name is now being removed from the Register of Members for one year starting from the date of publication of this notification. During this one-year period, Shri Kishan Gupta will not be allowed to practice as a chartered accountant.
