Big News: ICAI May Finally Allow CAs to Advertise Their Services

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is planning to remove the long time ban on advertising by Chartered Accountants (CAs). By this change, CAs and their firms will be able to promote their services and reach out to more people. This is a huge step in helping the Indian CA firms to grow and build their own identity.

A Step in the Right Direction

Many experts said that allowing advertising is a good and necessary move. It will help CA firms to compete in the market and create awareness about their services. But they also feel that this is only the beginning. So, just lifting the ad ban is not enough to make Indian firms strong and competitive on a global level.

Need for Bigger and Deeper Reforms

Experts also stated that for truly supporting the growth of Indian accounting firms, the rules and regulations need to be updated. As many of the current rules are over 75 years old. These outdated rules are holding back progress. To move forward, the whole system needs to be improved.

Mergers and More Freedom Required

One of the suggestions given by experts are you allow CA firms to merge with each other. Mergers can help firms to grow bigger, combine their strengths and serve clients better. Also, more freedom should be provided to these firms in how they operate. This flexibility will provide them space to improve and grow.

Build Indian Accounting Giants

India wants to create its own huge and powerful accounting firms which fan stand beside the international giants. But this dream can only become reality when their is flexibility and deep changes in the way CA firms are allowed to work. Advertising is only the first step, the rest journey needs updated laws, smoother rules for mergers and better working freedom.
