Fake Finance Guru Scams CA of Rs. 44 Lakh: Shocking Details Inside

In a recent case, a man who was impersonating a well-known stock market trainer, wealth advisor and Bollywood writer has scammed a senior Chartered Accountant, Shailesh Vishnubhai Haribhakti (68 years), of Rs 44 lakh. He is a renowned expert and director in many listed companies.

The incident took place at Haribhakti’s office, where 43-year-old Raj Hari Raysinghani allegedly promised an attractive investment deal. He convinced Haribhakti to invest Rs 10 lakh and assured him a monthly return of Rs 50,000, to be paid by online transfer on the first of every month. He claimed the full amount would be returned at the end of one year. The CA believed in the offer and ended up investing Rs 20 lakh in total.

However, since November 2022, Raysinghani has stopped making the promised payments and failed to return the money. This caused the victim a financial loss of up to Rs 44 lakh. Police said the accused gained Haribhakti’s trust by faking credentials and presenting himself as a well-known wealth expert.

A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The accused is currently absconding. The police is doing further investigation in this case.
