Businessman went naked and sits on Dharna amid harassment by GST Official over Arbitrary Tax worth Rs.85 lakhs

A businessman stripped naked and sat on a dharna outside the Mohan Nagar check post office of the State GST department in Ghaziabad. The businessman accused GST department officers of harassing him for failing to pay a bribe of Rs.2 lakh. A video of the incident is becoming popular on social media, and the department has launched an investigation. However, it has not confirmed the viral video.

A video went viral on WhatsApp and the social media app ‘X’ on Saturday morning. This five-minute video is purported to show Ghaziabad’s Mohan Nagar check post office. According to the viral footage, businessman Akshay Jain is seen removing his clothing and sitting on the floor inside the office. Akshay Jain claims that he wants two lakhs. I don’t have money, therefore I’ll sit here in Digambar state today.

At the same time, employees in the State GST office claim that you are pressuring them, to which Akshay responds, “Send me to jail.” Despite the fact that I have not embezzled any money, you are putting undue pressure on me. You’re imposing unneeded fines. Employees inquire about who requested the money. Akshay wonders why you didn’t ask. Why did you call me quietly (alone)?
