CRPF Recruitment 2023: The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has released a recruitment 2023 advertisement notice inviting applications from eligible Indian citizens for the post of Constable (Technical & Tradesmen) for the year 2023. The recruitment will be conducted on a domicile-based pattern for male and female candidates who are residents of their respective States/UTs. The recruitment process will consist of a Computer Based Test, Physical Standards Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Trade Test, Document Verification, and Medical Examination. As per CRPF Recruitment 2023 official notification, the recruitment will be based on the marks obtained in the Computer Based Test, and the final result will be declared based on the performance of the candidates in the CBT and subject to their qualifying the PST/PET/Trade test/Medical examination and other conditions stipulated in the recruitment notice. The application process will begin on 27th March 2023, and the last date for submission of online applications along with the online fee payment is 25th April 2023. As per CRPF Recruitment 2023 official notification the release of admit cards for the Computer Based Test will be from 20th to 25th June 2023, and the tentative schedule for the Computer Based Test is from 1st to 13th July 2023.

The vacancies for the post of Constable (Technical & Tradesmen) are 9,212, of which 9,105 are for male candidates and 107 are for female candidates. The vacancies are distributed across various States/UTs, and candidates are advised to regularly visit the website of the CRPF for updates on the examination schedule and download Admit Cards for each stage of the examination. The recruitment process is aimed at promoting gender balance, and women candidates are encouraged to apply for the post. Age Limit for CRPF Recruitment 2023:

As per CRPF Recruitment 2023 official notification, the age limit for different categories of constable positions in the police force is as follows:

  1. Constable (Driver): The age limit for this position is between 21-27 years as of 01/08/2023. Candidates should not have been born earlier than 02/08/1996 and later than 01/08/2002.
  2. Constable (MMV/Cobbler/ Carpenter/ Tailor/Brass Band/Pipe Band/ Bugler/ Gardner/ Painter/Cook/Water Carrier/Washerman/Barber/SafaiKaramchari/Mason/Plumber/Electrician): The age limit for this position is between 18-23 years as of 01/08/2023. Candidates should not have been born earlier than 02/08/2000 and later than 01/08/2005.
  3. Permissible age relaxation for different categories is also provided. For SC/ST, there is a relaxation of 5 years beyond the upper age limit. For OBC, there is a relaxation of 3 years beyond the upper age limit. For Ex-Servicemen, there is a relaxation of 3 years after the deduction of the military service rendered from the actual age as of the date of reckoning. For Children and dependents of victims killed in the 1984 riots or communal riots of 2002 in Gujarat (Unreserved), there is a relaxation of 5 years beyond the upper age limit. For Children and dependents of victims killed in the 1984 riots or communal riots of 2002 in Gujarat (OBC), there is a relaxation of 8 years beyond the upper age limit.

  1. CT/Driver:
  • Educational Qualification: Minimum Matric or equivalent from a recognized Board, or university recognized by the Central or State Govt.
  • Technical Qualification: Should possess Heavy Transport Vehicle Driving License and should pass the driving test at the time of recruitment.
  1. CT/Mechanic Motor Vehicle:
  • Educational Qualification: Minimum Matriculate or 10th Class pass in 10+2 examination system from a recognized board or equivalent.
  • Technical Qualification: Possessing 02 years Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) certificate in Mechanic Motor Vehicle recognized by National or State Council for Vocational training or any other recognized institution and one year practical experience in the field of concerned trade OR National or State apprenticeship certificate in Mechanic Motor Vehicle trade of three year duration from a recognized institution and one year practical experience in the field of concerned Trade.
  1. For all other Tradesmen:
  • Educational Qualification: Minimum Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized Board, or university recognized by the Central or State Govt or equivalent Army qualification in case of Ex-Army Personnel.
  • Technical Qualification: Must be proficient and worked in respective trades.
  1. CT(Mason/Plumber/Electrician):
  • Educational Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized Board.
  • Technical Qualification: (a) One year experience in respective trades like Masonry or Plumbing or Electrician. (b) Preference will be given to those having a certificate of trade from recognized Industrial Training Institute.

Selection Process for CRPF Recruitment 2023:

As per CRPF Recruitment 2023 official notification, the mode of selection for the recruitment of CT (Technical/Tradesmen) and CT (Pioneer) in CRPF consists of five stages:

  1. Computer-Based Test (CBT): The first stage is a CBT consisting of 100 objective multiple-choice questions carrying 100 marks. The questions will be from General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Knowledge and General Awareness, Elementary Mathematics, and English/Hindi. There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. Candidates who score below the cut off marks for their category will not be considered for the next stage of the recruitment process.
  2. Physical Standard Test (PST)/Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Candidates who qualify in the CBT will be shortlisted State/UT wise and category wise on the basis of their merit in the CBT for appearing in the next stage of recruitment process. The number of candidates shortlisted for the PST/PET will be approximately 8 times of the number of vacancies.
  3. Trade Test: Candidates who qualify in the PST/PET will be called for the trade test. The number of candidates to be shortlisted for the Trade test, Document Verification, and Detailed Medical Examination (DME)/Review Medical Examination (RME) will be approximately 2 or 3 times of the number of vacancies.
  4. Document Verification: Candidates who qualify in the trade test will have to undergo document verification. The Board of Officers (BOO) will conduct the document verification and collect the required eligibility certificate/documents from the candidates and verify them with the original documents.
  5. Medical Examination: Candidates who clear the document verification stage will have to undergo DME/RME. The final selection of candidates in each category will be made separately for male and female candidates in respect of each State/UT on the basis of normalized marks scored by candidates in the CBT. Candidates will be considered for the vacancies of a State/UT on the information provided by them in the online application form and subsequent submission of relevant Domicile Certificate at the time of DME/Document Verification.

Computer Based Test for CRPF Recruitment 2023:

As per CRPF Recruitment 2023 official notification, the selection process for the posts of CT (Technical/Tradesmen) and CT (Pioneer) consists of a Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by Physical Standard Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Documentation, Trade Test, and Medical Examination.

The CBT will have one objective-type paper with 100 questions carrying 100 marks. The duration of the exam will be 2 hours. The paper will be divided into four parts: General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Knowledge and General Awareness, Elementary Mathematics, and English/Hindi. Each part will have 25 questions, carrying 25 marks each.

All questions in the CBT will be of Objective Multiple Choice Type, and the paper will be conducted in English and Hindi only. There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. The date and Centre of the CBT will be informed to candidates via Admit Card only through the website of the CRPF.

The marks scored by candidates in CBT will be normalized, and such normalized scores will be used to determine final merit and cut-off marks. The questions in the CBT will be of Matriculation level.

A mock test link will be available on the CRPF website to familiarize the candidates with CBT after the go-live of the Admit card. Candidates are not permitted to use calculators and other electronic gadgets and should not bring the same inside the Examination Hall. There shall be no provision for re-evaluation/re-checking of the scores, and no correspondence in this regard shall be entertained.

Physical Efficiancy Test (PET) for CRPF Recruitment 2023:

As per CRPF Recruitment 2023 official notification, the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) for the post of Constable (Technical/Tradesmen) includes a race that candidates have to clear within a specific time limit. The race distance and time limits vary depending on the post/trade and the candidate’s gender.

For male candidates applying for the posts of CT/Driver, CT/Motor Mechanic Vehicle, CT/Gardner, CT/Painter, CT/Carpenter, CT/Brass Band, CT/Pipe Band, CT/Cobbler, and CT/Tailor, the race distance is 5 Kms, and the time limit is 24 minutes. Female candidates for the same posts have to run 1.6 Km within 8.30 minutes. This time limit applies to candidates other than those belonging to the Ladakh region.

For the post of CT/Bugler, CT/Cook/Water Carrier, CT/Barber & CT/Hair Dresser, CT/Washerman & CT/Washerwomen, and CT/Safai Karmchari, male candidates have to run 1.6 Kms within 10 minutes, while female candidates have to run the same distance within 12 minutes. Again, this time limit applies to candidates other than those belonging to the Ladakh region.

For the Pioneer Wing posts of CT/Mason, CT/Plumber, and CT/Electrician, male candidates have to run 1.6 Km within 9 minutes, and there is no race for female candidates. This time limit applies to all candidates except those from the Ladakh region. For the same posts and for candidates of the Ladakh region, the male candidates have to run 800 meters in 5 minutes.

The PET test is an essential part of the selection process, and candidates need to clear it to move forward to the next stage.

How to Apply for CRPF Recruitment 2023:

As per CRPF Recruitment 2023 official notification, to apply for the CRPF recruitment, candidates must follow the below-mentioned steps:

  1. Visit the official website of CRPF.
  2. Click on the recruitment section and find the advertisement for the desired post.
  3. Read the advertisement carefully and ensure that you meet the eligibility criteria.
  4. Click on the “Apply Online” link and fill in the required details in the application form.
  5. Upload the scanned copy of your photograph and signature.
  6. Pay the application fee online, if applicable.
  7. Verify all the details before submitting the application form.
  8. Submit the application form and take a printout for future reference.

Candidates are advised to submit their online applications much before the closing date and not to wait until the last date to avoid any technical difficulties. The application fee for male candidates belonging to General, EWS, and OBC categories is Rs. 100, while it is exempted for SC/ST, Female (all categories) candidates, and Ex-servicemen. The fee can be paid online using BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or using credit/debit cards. Candidates who are not exempted from fee payment must ensure that their fee has been deposited, or else their application will be rejected.
