CUET 2025 Passing Criteria for Admissions to Central, State, Other Participating Institutions
CUET 2025 Exam: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will administer the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) 2025 between May 8 and June 1, 2025. Candidates who this year desire to appear for the test must meet the minimum CUET 2025 Passing Criteria set by the NTA to get admitted to their desired institution. The test will be held in computer-based test (CBT) mode for 37 subjects including 13 languages, 23 domain-specific subjects, and one general aptitude test. This exam is conducted to provide students admission into various undergraduate courses in central, state, and other participating universities.
As per the previous year’s syllabus, this year a total of 8 topics have been dropped from the CUET 2025 syllabus. The syllabus for the domain-specific subjects will be based on the NCERT curriculum. The CUET entrance examination will be held for 13 Indian languages, Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.
Candidates who want to appear for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) 2025 this year, must meet the minimum CUET 2025 passing marks. These are the minimum marks candidates must achieve if they want to clear the examination. The minimum CUET 2025 passing marks depend on the category and university admission criteria. NTA itself does not set any particular passing marks for the exam instead participating universities set the CUET cut-off for different courses.
Last year, the minimum CUET qualifying marks to get admitted to the participating universities was between 400-500, this year is also expected the same. For higher institutions, such as Delhi University, Jawaharlal Nehru University, and Banaras Hindu University, the cut-off is expected to be a little higher as compared to the others.
The actual CUET 2025 minimum qualifying marks will be announced after the declaration of results. The minimum passing marks will rely on factors such as the number of applicants, exam difficulty level, reservation, programme and seat availability.
Candidates can be grouped into various performance categories based on their CUET scores and percentile ranges, as shown in the table below.
Grades | Approximate CUET score | Percentile range |
Excellent | 700 and above | 98-99 percentile |
