DRDO Recruitment 2023: DMSRDE has recently announced walk-in interviews for Junior Research Fellowships in the fields of Polymer Science and Textile Engineering. As per DRDO Recruitment 2023 official notification, the fellowship is for a period of two years, and the stipend offered is INR 31,000 per month for the first two years.
Candidates applying for the fellowship should possess a postgraduate degree in the relevant discipline with a NET qualification or a graduate degree in professional courses with a NET/GATE qualification. The maximum age limit for the fellowship is 28 years, with a relaxation of five years for SC/ST candidates and three years for OBC candidates. Candidates should also bring their original mark sheets, certificates, testimonials, community certificates (if applicable), GATE/NET scorecards, and ID proof to the interview. Candidates who are currently employed in Government/Public Sector Undertaking/Autonomous bodies should apply through proper channels. The award of the fellowship does not confer any right on the candidate for further employment in DRDO. The Director of DMSRDE reserves the right not to select any candidate if suitable candidates are not available. As per DRDO Recruitment 2023 official notification, the maximum age limit for the Junior Research Fellow position is 28 years as of the date of the interview.
However, there is a relaxation of 5 years for candidates belonging to the SC/ST category and 3 years for candidates belonging to the OBC category. It is important to note that the relaxation in the age limit will not be applicable for OBC candidates who fall under the creamy layer.
As per DRDO Recruitment 2023 official notification, the fellowship stipend for Junior Research Fellows is INR 31,000 per month for the first and second years. Additionally, the fellows will receive a contingency grant of up to INR 15,000 per annum for the first two years on a reimbursement basis. The contingency grant may be increased to INR 20,000 for the subsequent years. The fellows will also be eligible for House Rent Allowance (HRA) as per Government rules. However, they will not be eligible for other types of benefits like DA, CCA, Bonus, or Retirement benefits.
While the Junior Research Fellows are not eligible for other benefits, they are eligible for medical facilities for self only through MI Room facility available on the campus. It is important to note that the award of the fellowship will not confer any right on the candidate for further employment in DRDO. The Director of DMSRDE reserves the right not to select any candidate if suitable candidates are not available.

In addition to the walk-in interview, candidates must bring a copy of their bio-data in the format provided, a recent passport-sized photograph, and Xerox copies of all relevant documents, including mark sheets, certificates, testimonials, community certificates (if applicable), and GATE/NET scorecards. Candidates must also bring original copies of all documents, including ID proof (Voter’s ID/AADHAR Card/Pan Card/Driving License).
It should be noted that candidates who are currently employed in Government/Public Sector Undertaking/Autonomous bodies must apply through the proper channel.
