ESIC Recruitment 2023: The Office of Dean, ESIC (Employees’ State Insurance Corporation) Medical College & Hospital, Ministry of Labour and Employment (Government of India) Chennai has invited Applications for Contractual Engagement of the Senior Resident Posts with 03 Years’ Tenure vide the ESIC Recruitment 2023 Dated 18.07.2023. As may be noted that the ESIC Recruitment 2023 Official Vacancy Notice has occurred for Senior Resident Post with 31 Vacancies to be filled up on a Tenure Basis in various Specialty Departments notified therein. As may be taken note that the Walk-in-Interview Date 26.07.2023 is the Last Date.
According to the ESIC Recruitment 2023 Official Vacancy Notification, those Eligible with Willingness for the Notified ESIC Senior Resident Posts may complete the Application Process for appearing for Interviews on the Appointed Date 26.07.2023. Therefore, 26th July 2023 is the Last Date for Application Submission, hence, Candidate’s participating in the Walk-in-Interviews.
As may be referred to in the Recruitment 2023 Official Advertisement, the Walk-in-Interviews for Selection on 03-Years’ Residency Tenure Senior Resident Posts shall be held on 26.07.2023. Accordingly based on ESIC Recruitment 2023 Official Vacancy Notice, the Senior Resident Post Applicants must carry the duly completed Applications and Required Documents as well as Demand Draft in support of their respective Candidature for appearing in the Walk-in-Interviews scheduled for 26.07.2023.
The ESIC Recruitment 2023 Official Notification has 31 Vacancies to be filled up with Selection of Appropriately Suitable Candidates as Senior Resident on a Fixed Tenure Basis as mentioned hereunder:

01: General Medicine: 02 No.
02: Emergency Medicine: 01 No
Posting Tenure: 03 Years
According to the ESIC Recruitment 2023 Official Notification, the Monthly Remuneration Admissible for Senior Residents post-Selection remains as follows:
Monthly Pay: Pay Level 11 (Basic Pay 67700.00)
The Initial Pay in Level -11 with Basic Pay of Rs. 67700.00 Plus Other Allowances as Applicable under 7th Central Pay Commission.
Total Earnings drawn by the Senior Resident for the Month June 2023 was Rs. 143864.00. This Remuneration will be revised whenever there occurs Revision of Rates of DA as per ESIC Head Quarters Office which is in line with the Central Government Employees.
According to the ESIC Recruitment 2023 Official Advertisement, Post-specific Age Limit on the Closing Date should be as follows:
Age Limit: Not exceeding 45 Years.
Age Relaxations for Reserved Community Candidates as per Government Rules.
According to the ESIC Recruitment 2023 Official Notification, the Applicants should have gained the Eligibility comprising Educational Qualifications and Post-Professional Qualification Experience stipulated for the notified Posts and narrated hereunder:
Candidate must be Registered with the State Medical Council/National Medical Commission as applicable, before joining the Senior Resident Post.
The Candidates in the Government Service should submit “No Objection Certificate issued by their Respective Employer at the time of the Interview.
The Candidates already in Employment must produce Relieving Order from the Previous Employer at the time of Joining/No Objection Certificate for taking up Engagement with Employees’ State Insurance Corporation.
NMC- Teachers Eligibility Qualifications in Medical Institutions 2022 mandates the following Eligibility for Senior Resident Posts:
Senior Resident is One who is doing his Residency in the Concerned Department after obtaining Medical Post-Graduate Degree (MD/MS/DNB).
Non-Medical Post-Graduate Candidates with M.Sc (Medical) Degree shall be called Tutors in whichever Departments they are working.
Essential Qualifications:
I) Name of the Specialty: Emergency Medicine
Academic Qualification: MD/DNB (Emergency Medicine)
Academic Qualifications during Transition Period: MD/MS/DNB
II) Name of the Specialty: Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
Academic Qualification: MD/DNB (Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation)
Academic Qualifications during Transition Period: MS/MD/DNB
The Selection Criteria for Selection on Tenure Based Appointment for a Senior Resident Post entails Viva-voce. Final Selection of Appropriately Suitable Candidates for the Opted Post shall be strictly based on the Candidate’s Individual Performance of the Candidate in the Interview, which forms the Sole Criteria for Selection on Respective Posts.
The Contract Period for Notified Senior Resident Post would remain for 03 Years subject to the Incumbent’s Satisfactory Performance Evaluation on Annual Basis. There shall be No Extension beyond 03 Years’ Tenure. Both Senior Resident and Tutor Posts are Tenure Positions Not Exceeding 03 Years.
In the Specialty of RICU, the Candidates from the following Departments will be considered for Engagement as per the Preference Order mentioned here below:
Preference Order 1:
The Candidates with MD/DNB in the Department of Respiratory Medicine. Failing which,
Preference Order 2:
A Combined Merit order consisting of the Candidates from the following Departments appearing for Walk-in-Interview on a Particular Day will be prepared and the Candidates will be selected for Engagement by applying Post-wise Rosters to the Pool as a whole and not to a Specific Department Subject to the number of the Vacancy allotted to each Department.
The Selected Candidates will be under the supervision and command of the respective Departments and will be deployed in the RICU Duties on Need-based rotation.
1. In the Specialty of Radio Diagnosis, the Candidates with DMRD Qualification will be considered for Engagement Solely at the discretion of ESIC.
The Application Fee vide the ESIC Recruitment 2023 Official Vacancy Notice to be borne by the Candidates is as follows:
I) Un-Reserved Categories: Rs. 500.00 (Rupees Five Hundred) only
II) Other Reserved Class of the Candidates: Rs. 500.00 (Rupees Five Hundred) only
Reserved (SC/ST/PwBDs)/Woman Candidates & Ex-Service-Men: Exempted
Payment/Remittance Mode: A Demand Draft for Rs.500.00 (as applicable) in favor of “ESI Fund Account No.1” drawn on any Scheduled Bank payable in Chennai has to be submitted along with the Application Format at the time of Document Verification-cum-Walk-in Interview.
According to the ESIC Recruitment 2023 Official Notification, Eligible Candidates with Willingness should fill in the Prescribed Application Proforma, have Self-attested Copies with Originals, and report at the Interview Venue.
