Government Notifies Income Tax Exemption to Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority
The Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) has recently issued a Notification No. 03/2026 dated 6th January 2026, notifying the income tax exemption to Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority under the Income Tax Act, 1961.
As per the notification, the Central government, using its power given under sub-clause (b) of clause (46A) of section 10 of the Income-tax Act, 1961, has given income tax exemption to Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority, which is an authority established under the Uttar Pradesh Urban Planning Development Act, 1973 and is governed under the Uttarakhand Urban and Country Planning Development (Amendment) Act, 2013.
However, the exemption is applicable only if the company continues to be an authority constituted under the Uttar Pradesh Urban Planning Development Act, 1973 and as regulated under the Uttarakhand Urban and Country Planning Development (Amendment) Act, 2013.
The exemption is effective from the assessment year 2024-25.
