The Directorate of Income Tax (HRD), Examination Division, has recently released an official notification dated May 14, 2025, for the Departmental Examinations 2025, specifically for the Ministerial Staff.
The Departmental Examinations 2025 are scheduled to be held based on the Amended Departmental Examination Rules for Ministerial Staff, 1998, which have been effective from the 2023 examination onwards.
The exam schedule is detailed below. The following categories of employees are eligible to appear in the Ministerial Staff Examination 2025:
It is important to note that stenographers who were provisionally appointed under relaxed standards are not eligible to appear unless they have cleared the required proficiency test as clarified by this Directorate in its circular dated 18.09.2013 (See Annexe-II of the official notification).
The effective date of passing the examination will follow the guidelines mentioned in the Directorate’s earlier instructions dated 22.12.2011 (see Annexe-III of the official notification).
The Principal Chief Commissioners of Income Tax (Pr. CCsIT) and other officers in charge of examinations at various levels are requested to enrol the eligible candidates for this exam following the usual procedures used in past years.
Candidates need to submit their application forms offline at the office of their respective Pr. CCsIT/CCsIT/Pr. CsIT/CsIT (In-charge of Examination). For any queries or more details, candidates should get in touch with their local exam in-charge.
