Labour Ministry Notifies Authorities for Wage Disputes Under New Wage Code
A notification dated May 12, 2026, has recently been issued by the Ministry of Labour and Employment for the appointment of authorities under the Code on Wages, 2019.
The Central Government, in exercise of its powers under the Code on Wages, 2019, has appointed certain officers as an authority for dealing with matters relating to wages.
It also says that this new notification cancels and replaces an older notification issued on 28th August 1965. However, whatever has been done under the old notification will continue to be valid.
The officers listed in the table are officially authorised to use the powers given under Section 39(1) of the Code on Wages.
These officers will have authority only over establishments located in the areas mentioned in the table:
