Max Healthcare Receives GST Rectification Relief; Rs 55.20 Crore Demand Withdrawn
Max Healthcare Institute Limited has informed the National Stock Exchange of India and BSE Limited that it has received a rectification order from the GST authority on 21 April 2026 at 12:27 PM, passed by the GST Officer of the Department of Trade and Taxes, New Delhi. This disclosure has been made under Regulation 30 of SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
The case dates back to December 30, 2025, when the company had already informed the exchanges that they had received an order from the GST department. An allegation was made in this order that the company has claimed excess Input Tax Credit (ITC). Due to this, the GST authority had raised a demand of approximately Rs 55.20 crore against the company. The company did not agree to this and decided to give clarification from its side. For this, they filed a rectification application, in which they explained their position and submitted the necessary documents. The GST authority reviewed the company's submissions in detail. After review, the authority passed a new order on 21 April 2026, in which they accepted the company's proposal. In this new order, the earlier demand raised was withdrawn.
