NEET UG 2023: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the NEET UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduates) 2023 tomorrow, 7th May 2023. More than 20 lakh students have applied for the NEET UG 2023 out of which more than 11 lakh students are girls and around 9 lakh students are boys.  The examination will be conducted from 2 pm to 5:20 pm in a single shift across the country.

NEET is the only Medical Entrance Exam in India that offers admission to various undergraduate courses like MBBS, BDS, BUMS, BAMS, and others. It is a national-level exam conducted once every year by the NTA. The NEET UG 2023 exam will be conducted in 543 Indian cities and 14 cities outside India. Being a national-level exam, it will be conducted in 13 different languages, that include English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

NEET UG 2023: Exam Day Rules and Regulations

The NTA has released the updated rules and regulations for the NEET UG 2023 exam day. Along with rules and regulations, the NTA has also released the NTA NEET COVID Advisory 2023. Candidates should strictly follow the rules and regulations otherwise the candidature of the candidate will be canceled. Some of the rules and regulations to be followed on the examination day are mentioned below:

  • Students must reach the exam venue on or before the reporting time that is mentioned on their admit cards
  • Candidates must follow the Covid appropriate behavior at the examination center
  • Candidates should not talk to any other candidate inside the exam hall
  • Candidates should not assist in any kind of malpractice
  • Candidates must refrain from tampering with any documents
  • Candidates should provide the exact same information in the OMR sheet as mentioned in the Admit Card and application form
  • Candidates must affix the same passport-size photograph to their admit card as uploaded in the online application form
  • Candidates are not allowed to carry textual material, bits of paper, geometry/pencil boxes, plastic pouches, calculators, scales, writing pads, pen drives, erasers, calculators, log tables, electronic pens, etc., inside the exam center.

NEET UG 2023: Dress Code

Candidates should strictly adhere to the Dress Code mentioned below on the exam day, otherwise, the students will not be allowed to enter the examination hall.

  • Candidates should wear half shirts or clothes having short sleeves
  • Students wearing light clothes with long sleeves will not be allowed
  • Candidates wearing shoes will not be allowed to enter
  • Candidates must wear sandals and slippers with low heels
  • Any ornaments like Ring, Bracelet, Earrings, Nose-pin, Chain/Necklace, Pendants, Badge, Brooch, etc., are not allowed to wear
  • Candidates must not wear any gadgets like watches or Health Band
  • Candidates must not carry any handbags or wallets along with them
  • Candidates wearing goggles, hairpins, hairbands, scarf, caps, belts, amulets, etc., will not be allowed to enter the exam hall
  • Candidates must wear a mask

NEET UG 2023: Important Documents to Carry on Exam Day

Candidates must carry the following mentioned documents on the exam day. Without the possession of the mentioned documents, candidates will not be permitted to take the test.

NEET UG 2023 admit card

Passport size photograph

Postcard size photograph

Valid ID proof – PAN card, Aadhaar card, Voter ID, Driving License, Passport, Ration card

NEET UG 2023: Exam Pattern

The NEET UG 2023 examination will last 200 minutes (03 hours 20 minutes). The examination will be held in a single shift for all applicants from 02:00 PM to 05:20 PM (Indian Standard Time). The NEET UG 2023 exam’s question papers will have only objective-type questions (MCQs). The exam will be held in offline mode i.e., a pen and paper-based exam. The test will consist of 200 questions from the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany and Zoology). Candidates will have to attempt only 180 questions out of 200.

There will be 50 questions in each subject, separated into two sections (A and B). Section A will consist of 35 questions while Section B will consist of 15 questions. Candidates will have to attempt 10 questions from section B. Each question will be of four marks and for every incorrect answer one mark will be deducted and 0 marks will be awarded for unanswered questions. The maximum mark for NEET UG 2023 is 720.
