No Plan to increase GST Tax Slab From 5% to 8%: Revenue Secretary Tarun Bajaj

Revenue Secretary, Mr. Tarun Bajaj in a Press Release clarified that Government has no plans to increase the Goods & Service Tax (GST) Tax Slab From 5% to 8%. This clarification came in wake of various media reports claiming the GST Council may hike the lowest tax band to 8% from 5% at its next meeting.

This Clarification was made during the Budget Outreach Programme on 7th March 2022.
