PNB Gets SEBI Warning Over Insider Trading

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has issued an administrative warning letter to Punjab National Bank (PNB) for alleged violation of insider trading rules by six persons.
The warning was issued by the SEBI Investigations Department in connection with trading in shares of PNB by three designated persons and their immediate relatives, the bank said in a disclosure on October 1, 2026. The transactions took place between June 24, 2024 and August 6, 2024, with the review period extending beyond these dates wherever considered necessary.
The warning letter was dated September 30, 2026 and was received by PNB on October 1. SEBI has cited violations of the SEBI (Prohibition of Insider Trading) Regulations, 2015 by the six individuals.
PNB said the SEBI communication is cautionary in nature and that no financial penalty has been imposed on the bank. The bank added that it will take the necessary steps to address the concerns raised in the SEBI letter.
The disclosure was made to the National Stock Exchange of India and BSE under the Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements Regulations, 2015.
