SBI Recruitment 2023: The State Bank of India (SBI) has recently announced vacancies for two positions – Support Officer and Business Correspondent Facilitators. The Support Officer position is on a contract basis and has a total of nine vacancies, with preference given to ex-officers who have previously worked in the Cash Management Product Operations Centre (CMPOC) in Hyderabad. The Business Correspondent Facilitator position is for retired SBI officers to work as liaisons between the Bank and the customers in rural and remote areas in various circles across India. There are 868 provisional vacancies for this position, with preference given to retired officers who have a good track record of performance and knowledge of the Bank’s systems and procedures. So There is a total of 877 Vacancies available in this Recruitment Drive.

As per SBI recruitment 2023 official notification, the recruitment drive for Business Correspondent Facilitators is an opportunity for retired officers to contribute to the Bank’s social responsibility while utilizing their knowledge and experience. The eligibility criteria for both positions include retiring from the Bank’s service only on attaining superannuation at the age of 60 years, with the engagement being up to the maximum age of 65 years, subject to satisfactory performance and renewal of the contract. The retired officers’ engagement in the Bank shall be on a contract basis and shall not be treated as an extension in service for the purpose of pension and other superannuation benefits.

As per SBI recruitment 2023 official notification,  For the post of Support Officer (On a contract Basis), the applicants can submit their applications online starting from March 18, 2023, until April 1, 2023. During this period, applicants can access the online registration portal and complete the application process by filling in their personal and academic details, uploading required documents, and paying the application fee (if applicable).

For the post of Business Correspondent Facilitator, the online registration process for the program or event will open a bit earlier, from March 10, 2023, and close on March 31, 2023. This indicates that applicants will have a slightly shorter period of time to submit their applications compared to the first example mentioned.

Eligibility Criteria for SBI Recruitment 2023:

As per SBI Recruitment 2023 official notification, the State Bank of India has released notifications for recruitment to two different positions. The first position is for Support Officer, to be engaged on a contract basis in the Cash Management Product Operations Centre (CMPOC) in Hyderabad. There are a total of nine vacancies, out of which six are for the General category, two are for Other Backward Castes (OBC), one is for Scheduled Caste (SC), and one for PWD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities-VI-Visual Impaired). To be eligible for this position, the applicant must have retired from SBI’s service on attaining superannuation at the age of 60 years and should have a good track record of performance, thorough knowledge of the Bank’s systems and procedures, and appropriate qualifications/domain expertise required for the work assigned. The applicant’s integrity should not be doubtful, and no punishment/penalty (censure or higher) should have been inflicted on the official during the five years of his/her service preceding to his/her retirement. The age of the applicant, as of 18.03.2023, should be 63 years for fresh engagement, and the engagement shall be up to the maximum age of 65 years, subject to satisfactory performance and renewal of the contract. The engagement of retired officers in the Bank shall be on a contract basis and shall not be treated as an extension of service for the purpose of pension and other superannuation benefits. The Retired Officer should maintain good health and not be suffering from any major ailments. The retired officers (retirees engaged) will not accept any other assignment with any other organization during the period of engagement. They will not exercise any administrative/financial power during the period of engagement, and will not be eligible for any medical facilities under the contract.

The second position is for Business Correspondent Facilitator, to be engaged by the Financial Inclusion (FI) Department in various circles. The total number of vacancies is not specified. The eligibility criteria for this position require the candidate to be a retired officer of SBI or its e-Associate banks, who have served in the grade for which the recruitment is being conducted. The maximum age limit for the General category candidate is 63 years. For SC/ST/OBC candidates, relaxation in the upper age limit will be provided as per government norms. The candidate must possess overall professional competence and sufficient work experience in the relevant area, as per the requirement. The candidate must also possess the special skill/aptitude/quality required for the position. Additionally, candidates belonging to OBC category but coming in the ‘creamy layer’ are not entitled to OBC reservation and should indicate their category as ‘GENERAL’ as applicable. Caste certificates issued by a competent authority on the format prescribed by the Government of India will have to be submitted by the SC candidates. A declaration must be submitted in the prescribed format by candidates seeking reservation under OBC category stating that they do not belong to the creamy layer as on the last date of online registration of the application. The position is for a retired officer and is not applicable to fresher applicants. The number of vacancies mentioned above is provisional and may vary according to the actual requirement of the Bank.

Salary for SBI Recruitment 2023:

As per SBI Recruitment 2023 official notification, the remuneration and criteria for Support Officers and Business Correspondent Facilitators, who are retired officers engaged by the bank for certain work. The monthly remuneration payable to Support Officers is listed based on their grade, and it is noted that this amount is on a lumpsum basis and without prejudice to their pension. No other benefits or perquisites will be provided to these officers during the contract period. Income tax will be deducted at source.

For Business Correspondent Facilitators, a uniform monthly remuneration of Rs. 40,000 without any perquisites is proposed. The remuneration will be paid based on the percentage of visits to the Customer Service Points (CSPs) allotted to them. BCFs must visit each CSP every month, and if a CSP is not visited in the previous month, only 50% of the remuneration will be paid. BCFs must provide a certificate detailing the CSP visits they have done during the month, and if their visits are less than 70% for two months, their services will be terminated. Like with Support Officers, no other benefits or perquisites will be provided to BCFs during the contract period, and income tax will be deducted at source.

Role and Responsibility for SBI Recruitment 2023:

As per SBI Recruitment 2023 official notification, the Support Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the bank’s operations. Their primary responsibility is to contact each branch having outstanding balances in BGL A/Cs on a daily basis. They must guide the branch and provide solutions to the glitches faced in reconciliation to ensure the reconciliation of the BGL A/cs at the end of the day. Additionally, the Support Officer is responsible for contacting each defaulting PAO and CDO to obtain the VDMS and issue LOCs in a timely manner.

Moreover, the service of retired officials can be utilized for handling customer complaints in Cash and Cheque Collection Services. This includes addressing issues like delays in processing by the branches, errors in processing, reconciliation support to clients, irregular cash pickups by agencies, and non-acceptance of depositions from the clients/agencies. Retired officials can also be utilized for follow-up with clients for the recovery of CMP charges and with branches for the timely liquidation of cheques.

On the other hand, the Business Correspondent Facilitator (BCF) is responsible for inspecting and monitoring the activities at CSPs/BCs at regular intervals, which means they are required to conduct a minimum of 75 CSPs visits in a month. They must also perform one financial/non-financial transaction through AEPS or Micro ATM and submit the report through the online portal. The BCF ensures the issuance of printed receipts to customers and oversees the fund handling at CSP outlets while ensuring the maintenance of registers.

The BCF must provide guidance and training to CSPs on banking practices and improve the compliance report of BCs/CSPs on various bank instructions. They are responsible for escalating operative issues of CSPs to higher authorities and ensuring their quick resolution. The BCF must also provide feedback to RBO to improve the efficiency of the BC channel and send alerts to Chief Manager (FI) to improve efficiency. Additionally, the BCF must improve financial literacy training for BCs/CSPs in handling new products, conduct due diligence on new BCs/CSPs, activate inactive BCs/CSPs, and report instances of CSPs marketing products that compete with our bank products. The BCF must accelerate linking Aadhar and mobile seeding in FI accounts, monitor the activation of Micro ATMs supplied to BCs for issuance of Green PIN and activation of RuPay Cards, and persuade CSPs to acquire Debt Recovery Agent (DRA) qualifications to supplement the Bank’s recovery efforts. Finally, they must perform any other work assigned by the bank.

How to Apply for SBI Recruitment 2023:

To apply for the position, candidates are required to have a valid email ID which should be kept active till the declaration of the result, as it will help them get call letters, interview advice, etc. via email. Candidates can register themselves online through the link available on the SBI website. After registering online, candidates are advised to take a printout of the system-generated online application form.

To complete the online application As per SBI Recruitment 2023 official notification, candidates should first scan their latest photograph and signature. Online application will not be completed unless the candidate uploads their photo and signature as per the guidelines specified under ‘How to Upload Document’. Candidates should carefully fill in the ‘application form’ and submit it completely. If a candidate is unable to fill the application in one go, they can save the partly filled ‘Form’. In doing this, a provisional registration number and password will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen. Candidates should note down the registration number and password carefully. The partly filled and saved application form can be re-opened using the registration number and password, where-after the particulars can be edited, if needed. This facility of editing the saved information will be available for three times only. Once the application is filled completely, candidates should submit the application form.
