Taxpayers can check their Income Tax Refunds status by following the below-mentioned steps:
Step 1: Visit the official website – www.incometax.gov.in – and log in with your PAN and password.
Step 2: From the top menu, click on Services. Know your Refund Status.
Step 3: Navigate to the e-File tab, click on the Income Tax Returns tab and select the View Field Returns option.
Step 4: Your refund status for the relevant assessment year will be displayed on the screen.
Q3. What happens if the income tax refund is above Rs 50,000?
Experts says, There is no such upper limit on refunds. But, Huge refunds sometimes undergo more verification by the income tax department, which can be one of the reasons for delay.
Q4. When can a taxpayer claim a TDS refund?
Expert says that taxpayers can claim a TDS refund only when they file and e-verify your Income Tax Return for that financial year. The refund is processed if the total TDS deducted is more than your actual tax liability. Before filing, you should verify the TDS details are correctly reflected or not.
Q5. What is the maximum amount for a tax refund?
There is no maximum limit on income tax refunds. You will be refunded all the extra tax you have paid. Whether via TDS, advance tax or self-assessment. If the refund is delayed, the Income Tax Department also pays interest on the amount at 0.5% per month. says experts.

@IncomeTaxIndia Today I have paid taxes for itr , but status still not reflected and shows TO PAY amt, I tried to add the paid amt in Tax paid section by entering the challan num, challan num starts with 0 but when typed the 0 is ignored ,this is appl issue. How to resolve this
