Union Bank of India Recruitment 2023: The Union Bank of India is inviting online applications for engagement as Stipendiary Players for its women’s hockey team for the financial year 2023-24. The objective of forming the team is to establish Union Bank of India as a strong contender in women’s hockey and to bring laurels to both women’s hockey players and the bank. The stipendiary players will be engaged for the financial year 2023-24 by conducting selection trials across India. As per the Union Bank of India Recruitment 2023 official notification, the team will consist of one goalkeeper, two defenders, four midfielders, and four forwards. However, the bank may engage more stipendiary players as per its requirements. The selected players will receive a monthly stipend of INR 10,000, along with other benefits and facilities, such as playing kits, TA/DA, and out-of-pocket expenses during practice camps and tournaments organized by the bank.
To be eligible, an Indian female citizen aged between 16 to 25 years as of 01.04.2023 (born between 01.04.1999 and 01.04.2007) must have participated in international/national/state-level tournaments/events recognized by recognized international/national federations/associations in the last two years. Moreover, during the engagement period, the player should neither be availing of any scholarship/stipend from any other organization nor be employed with any government/semi-government/public sector/private organization. The selected stipendiary player shall not claim any employment relationship with the bank or any of its subsidiaries under any circumstances and will not have any right to seek employment in the bank’s services.
As per the Union Bank of India Recruitment 2023 official notification, the selection of players will be based on past performance, selection trials, and trial matches, with a maximum of 25 marks. The trials will be conducted in Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Delhi, and Pune, and the candidates have to make their arrangements for travel and accommodation. The bank shall not be liable for any loss/damage/injury/disability or death caused to any stipendiary/reserve player during the sports activity.

As per the Union Bank of India Recruitment 2023 official notification, the eligibility criteria for the Union Bank of India Sports Scholarship requires the applicant to be an Indian female citizen between the age of 16 to 25 years, born between 01.04.1999 and 01.04.2007. They must have participated in International/National/State level tournaments/events recognized by recognized International/National Federations/Associations in the last two years (in any or both years 2021 and 2022).
The stipendiary players shall be engaged for FY 2023-24 and the stipend shall be paid for the period of actual engagement. During the engagement period, the player should not be availing of any scholarship/stipend from any other organization or employed with any Government/Semi-government/Public Sector/private organization. The stipendiary player shall not claim any employment relationship with the Bank or any of its subsidiaries under any circumstances and will not have any right to seek employment in the services of the Bank or any of its subsidiaries. Additionally, applicants must provide a 10th Class Certificate and Aadhaar Card as proof of age.
As per the Union Bank of India Recruitment 2023 official notification, the selected stipendiary players for Union Bank of India will be entitled to receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 10,000/- during their period of engagement along with TA/DA and out-of-pocket expenses during their participation in tournaments and practice camps.
In addition to this, the players will also be given the opportunity to represent the Bank’s team in various competitions within the country and provided with playing kits to be used during their participation. If any injury is caused while representing the Bank in any sporting activity, the Stipendiary players shall be extended with all the medical benefits as available to JMGS -I employees who sustain injuries in the course of duty. Other benefits as per the Bank’s Sports Policy will also be available to the stipendiary players.
As per the Union Bank of India Recruitment 2023 official notification, the selection process for the stipendiary players will consist of selection trials which will be conducted at five locations: Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Delhi, and Pune. The selection trials may be subject to change or removal by the Bank. Candidates will not be reimbursed for any expenses such as travel, accommodation, or food for appearing in the selection trials.
The selection of players will be based on a maximum of 25 marks which will be divided into three categories: past performance, selection trials, and trials match. Past performance will be awarded a maximum of 10 marks based on the candidate’s participation in international, national, or state-level tournaments in the last two years.
The scores for past performance will be calculated based on the level of participation in each tournament, with a maximum score of 8-9 for representing India in international tournaments. Candidates can claim the benefit of one score only based on their participation level in the last two years.
As per the Union Bank of India Recruitment 2023 official notification, the mode of applying for the Union Bank of India Women’s Hockey Team stipendiary players program is online, and applications sent by any other means will not be accepted. Interested candidates should visit the bank’s website and refer to the current opening/recruitment notification for detailed notification of the selection process.
Candidates can fill out the online application form, upload a recent color photograph and signature, and self-attest copies of their 10th class certificate, Aadhaar/Pan Card/Voter Id, proof of address, proof of their participation in tournaments, and proof of awards for their individual performance.
The step-by-step procedure is attached as per Annexure I. No other documents or information will be accepted after the final submission of the online application. The Bank will not be responsible for any technical errors while filling out the application form. The last date for submitting the online application is 15.04.2023 24:00 Hrs.
